I cannot believe what the scales are telling me!! It will be 3 months tomorrow (June 1st) and I have lost 65 pounds!!! Am I dreaming???? I am soooo jazzed about this surgery! God, please let it continue to fall off of this body of mine! I have prayed for this for so long! I have heard in several of the support groups that I attend that after about 8 months, the hunger comes back, so I am trying to do EVERYTHING I can to take full advantage of not having hunger pains now. Thanks for all the support from this site-you guys are great! Karen LAP RNY 03/01/04 320/255/???

Thanks, Maureen! I am eating three meals a day, no bread, pasta or potatoes, drink my 8 glasses of water a day and do not drink for 2 hours after I eat. I went to a support group meeting last month and a member who was 9 months out told me that she never drinks for 2 hours after eating so that her pouch stays full longer and she feels full much longer. After the 2 hours is up, she drinks like mad until 1/2 hour before the next meal. I decided to try it because I was drinking about 1/2 to 1 hour after I was eating and then I would graze until the next meal time. And guess what? It really works!!! It took a little getting used to, but that is what this tool is all about; learning how to use it to our advantage. The receptors for fullness are in the upper part of the stomach (our pouch) and when our pouch is stretched is when the receptors signal our brain that we are full. Keeping the pouch full will keep our brains feeling satisfied. I truly have been amazed. My doctor told me to wait at least one hour, but waiting another hour has made all the difference in the world. Try it! I also try to exercise. Thanks for the support! Dear Karen: Congrats on your fantastic loss! I am going to my three-month post-up check up in an hour or so, and am anxiously awaiting to see what the scale says. I think that I will follow your advice to see if it makes a difference in my weight loss. Are you eating any carbs at all? I recently discovered Savory Crisp crackers (17 crackers = one serving = 2 grams protein), and they are delicious and satisfying. Last time I checked my weight (5/26), I was down -49 lbs. I'll finish off the crackers and then go no carbs. By the way, I just received (via mail) a great pedometer and went for a long walk on Sunday (2.5 miles) and a longer walk yesterday (5.5 miles), and I feel wonderful. Did get a blister the size of a quarter on one heel, though, so I have to be more mindful of footwear the next time I go hikiing. I only weigh myself once a week because the weight fluctuations make me crazy otherwise. Keep up the great job! Rita 299/250/143

I`m also at 3 months (on the 4th) and down 63# plus 32.5 inches are gone. I almost fell over when we measured me (I weight on mondays and measure once a month), my son came though the other day and said mom you are melting !!!!!!! It made me want to cry and dance at the same time ( he of course thinks I`m nuts !!) I thank the Lord everyday that I made it though this surgery without any problems and each and every day I fell so much better. So for all of us Marchers WOOHOOOOOO! Debbie
