WLS AND MS

Has anyone who has MS had weight loss surgery. I was scheduled for a BPD/DS with Dr. Inabenet Jan 2003 and was diagnosed with MS Dec. 2002. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule the surgery until my MS stabilized . Well, it's now over a year later and I finally got my MS under control. My neurologist gave me the green light for surgery and I now want to reschedule. I'm just curious if anyone has undergone surgery with this pain in the butt disease (MS), and if they experienced any compliations. Any information would be very much appreciated.

Alas, I haven't seen anyone come forward to answer you. And I think that means that none of us here are facing this particular challenge. There are many hormonal shifts after this surgery. Ask your neurologist and your bariatric surgeon to be in touch and make sure that, to the extent possible, that they are anticipating special needs you might have. Best of luck, Gano

Thanks for replying Gano. Actually, I received a few e-mails from people w/MS who have undergone surgery. I think the lack of response is due to the fact that I posted on the wrong board. Thanks for the advice and well wishes. Have a great day! Christine
