POLL: Do You Dump????
Hi everyone I just found out that I don't dump this weekend. My family had a long weekend in Branson and I CHEATED for the first time since surgery. I feel awful. It all started with 1 bite of my DH Krispy Creme donut then it was 2 and then when we were back at the hotel I snuck and ate almost a whole one...not once but twice (DH actually got a dozen thinking that my parents would want some too...they didn't). I am angry at myself as I was determined NOT to have anything over 8 grams of sugar until I hit goal. Well I lost out and now I know and now I think I will eat sugar just because I know that I can. I ate some M & Ms today, drank sugary juice on the trip and NEVER felt sick. I Used to be more a salt than sugar person but now the sugar has tasted so GOOD. I hope I can get back on track now that I am home.
Help me and let me know how and if you found out if you dum*****t.

I do dump, and I am thankful for that reminder. I can dump on crackers though, so I try to be careful. But oddly enough I can have the Viactiv chews and some bread products and I'm fine. I think if it sits in my pouch long enough I'm okay. If I wa**** down with liquid, I'm in deep doo doo.
It might depend on what you have or haven't had before hand and what you are having at the time. I find that different cir****tances will bring about a dump while others do not. Like tonight at work, a couple of ladies did a sweet (literally!
) thing and bought pie for everyone since 4 of us are having birthdays this month. Well, they got a berry pie thinking I could have some. I took a very very small sliver (like 2-3 bites at most) and prepared myself for the worst, but I didn't get sick at all. So if I juggle it just right I can avoid getting sick.
Just for the record though: That pie was the sweetest thing I've had outside the Viactiv's since surgery. I'm not a fate-tempter, nor do I want to get side-tracked off losing!

I dont dump either. I have found myself purposely trying something sweet to see what happens. the only thing fried that I've had since surgery were some baby shrimp. I still refrain from the sweets. At my dr appt last week I actually asked my surgeon was it "ok" not to dump. I dont know if to not dump is good or bad.
I have what I call the alien pouch! I can eat a donught and not dump but eat like say...something really small with little sugar and feel nauseous as heck. My pouch is moody I think!!
yeah sugar is bad its hard to get back on track. I am going through that myself with carbs! AND once you get that sugar in you want to eat eat eat because it triggers those hunger cravings! Mean ol' evil sugar!!!
Best of luck

Amber,
This is an intervetion....put the donut down and walk away slowly, actually forget the walking slowly...run like hell!!
The only thing that I have had that had a lot of sugar was the chi tea from starbucks. It is tea, cinnamin and milk (I think that is all) anyway it says on the starbucks web site that there are something like 32 grams of sugar in the large. If I am correct on the ingredients the sugar is all from milk which my nutritionist said we process different than regular sugar so we should not dump. I felt a tiny bit quesey for about 20 min but other wise was fine. So I guess the answer is I still am not sure if I dump on sugar.

You know, you can take in the Carb Countdown milk and have it made with that. In fact, I make my own Chai with the Stash Chai tea and Carb Countdown milk, then I add a scoop of Unjury unflavored protein and I end up with 2 grams of carbs and 32 grams of protein. Turns it on it's side, and it's YUMMY!!!
