ALCOHOL????
Hi all! I have a question. My nutritionist said that I could sneak 2oz of alcohol and see how it goes. She doesnt really want us drinking until a year but she said it should be ok if I can tolerate it. So my questions is who has had some and what did you drink and how did you feel??? Ok so that is a few questions. I am planning to go out with some friends soon(I cant believe it-I am not the club type-GO ME) and was wanting to have a little drink. I am scared Ill get sick but so far nothing has really bugged me. I have never dumped and the only time I went
was when I ate too fast or too much. Thanks for the info.

LaDonna,
Two ounces sounds like a lot to me. You'd have to pull me down from the ceiling if I drank two ounces. The first time I had anything to drink was about a month ago. I ordered a Bloody Mary and had about 1/3 of it before I was looped. Now I usually just have sips from my boyfriend's drinks. It's not worth ordering a drink for me because there's no way I could fini**** without doing a table dance or something.
I've heard that red wine and vodka are the best for post-ops. I have no idea how true this is.
Take it slow and you'll probably be fine. Most of all, have a great time and enjoy the new you.

Hi La Donna,
My girlfriend and I had a Brunch and she got a bottle of Blue Nun white wine, well I am not a drinker but I had about 4oz of wine and I was feeling great, untill I tried to stand up...hahahah !
I didnt get sick but It hit me really fast and really hard for about a half hour I was a mess laughing,
and having a good old time!
I say go for it!
just know that it will effect you sooner than it would have pre-op, and Please dont drink and Drive!
Have fun and Enjoy yourself!
God Bless!
Hugz Mary

I've tried beer on tap (less carbonation) and in three hours, I still had at least a third of it left in the pint glass. I tried vodka gimlets (it's vodka, ice, and a little lime juice - there are no sugar free, carbonation free mixers out there, besides water), they were ok but really strong. I did not have to drive that night. And I had a glass of white wine this week.
It takes me so long to drink that I don't get drunk.. it's more of that "losing the buzz" feeling for me so I'm not usually interested. Luckily (?) I drank my #$% off in college so it doesn't bother me that I can't party like I used to anymore.
You're going to have a great time with your friends with or without the booze - enjoy yourself!
