Missing period

After the surgery I had two or three regular periods then was about 10 days late in June and now no period for 6 weeks?? It might be menopause (I'm 49) but I wondered if the weight loss has anything to do with it? Should I be concerned? I feel like I'm having a looong PMS Thanks, Robin

You might be starting menopause, but if I were you I would ck with your ( regular doc) or your GYN To make sure your not having problems for another reason. better be safe than sorry. Don't wait!! Marilyn, the bearlady

i Had surgery 3/23/04 and have only had 1 period in june and than not in july and not yet also. i am 51. i havent really question it. figured it has to do with menopause. i go back to dr. next month. i will wait and ask him. i am not having any hot flashes or pain or anything.

Hey Robin, I've had the opposite problem...I'm having too many!! I'm almost 45 and according to my lineage I should be in Menopause now. But I'm having up to as many as 3 periods a month!! ....and hubby ain't a happy man!!! Estrogen dumps are wonderful things. That's what my PCP says is causing the multiples...estrogen stored in the fatty tissue...as it burns it dumps the estrogen in to the blood stream and causes a period. It's just ever-lovin' wonderful!! Go see your PCP they can do a blood test and at least give you an idea of whether or not it's possibly menopause or you've got a bun in the oven!!! You haven't been nauseous in the morning have you???? Va

Virginia, A BUN IN THE OVEN!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my last baby at 46 but I think 49 is just too old. I've had nine so I think I'd know the signs by now. No tender breast, no constipation, no nauseous, no cravings, no peeing all the time. I took one of those new menopause test last month and it came up negative at first then a faded pink line showed after an hour. Funny same thing happened with my last pregnangy test. Thanks, Robin
