Bad Two Weeks
Hi everyone,
I dont have a support group where I live so I rely on you guys to get me through! I went on vacation 3 weeks ago and gosh I just cant snap out of it. I have made bad food choices, but the good news is I am at least still exercising. I know that will help a little, but this dealing with food is driving me nuts! I know what to eat, I know what is right, its my head I need to adjust.
Just wondering if there are any fellow Marchers that are going through the same thing. Before I left I was doing great and then bammmmm!!!! I dont think I will be leaving for vacation again anytime soon.

Stop punishing yourself! Focus I too have made those bad choices. I just came back from a camping trip and ate a few cookies and licorce basically things that I shouldn't and I too have not stopped excercising. But this will not defeat me I am suffering a little today because I want more cookies, so I had fruit instead and made myself the protien drink. This seems to have curbbed the need for those cookies. Get yourself back in your normal routine. Don't give yourself any reason not to continue on the path that you were on. You can do this and you will succeed. Stay Strong!

I too have had some bad times when my family has been camping. I think we have conditioned ourselves for years that social events and fun need food to make them even better. Our trip out last week I was careful to pack lots of healthy choices and still I gave into my drive for a few naughty foods, but better than i had the trip before. Just jump back on the band wagon and keep plugging along. My first two days back after a trip from home are the hardest and then I am back in my routine. You are doing wonderful, and continuing to exercise is an accomplishment as well dont knock yourself down, celebrate that prior to WLS you woudlnt have exercised at all. Just today I was thinking how happy I would be once my kids were back in school and I could eat and do what I know is right and how much easier that would be.

When I go camping I pack the following, Watermelon, Cantalope,low fat grahmcrackers, cheese, turkey, water and lunch meats. I don't take anything that is not on the healthy list and I wont let myself eat any of the other families food. I also take a boiled egg or two, Then I say to myself this food really taste better out here than it does at home and that is true it really does. You guys can do this we all can beat this obese problem we are going to win our battle... We can do it, we can do it, we can all be fit!!!! Sarah T.

Thanks so much for replying and letting me know I am not alone. This morning I started over! I had a protein shake for breakfast and for lunch an egg and some cheese. I know I can do this because I read post everyday of woman and men that are doing it!!!! Its just great to know that other people read and care about what you are going through.

We all have those times where we choose the wrong foods or cave into our cravings. It is only human after all. No one is perfect. As long as we get back on track and put a little effort into correcting our little "splurges"
we will be just fine
This is not a total restriction type of diet its a life change. There are still those issues we still have to work through and adjust to
Sometimes we need to get back to the basics. I know I do!!! I had it rough last weekend. I also was on vacation and had something just awful to eat! I felt sooo guilty but I eventually shrugged it off decided it was a fluke and pretended it never happened and that I cannot eat that type of stuff. Got myself a protein drink and a protein bar and pretended I just got out of surgery.
Its pretty much re-training the brain I think. Hang in there
