Hi all. Just realized that my 5 mos anniversary past yesterday. Life is great. I started this journey at 330 (my highest) when I 1st saw my surgeon on 12/6/03. I had my surgery on 3/16 when I was 311. I'm now 228. That's 83 since surgery, but the number I like is 102 since the journey started. I've gone from a 34-36 to a 22, and can now shop in real stores, not just online. More important than that is now I can keep up with my 7 yr old (well, almost). Before surgery she would sit on the arm of my chair so I could read her a story. Now she fits in a lap I never had before. She can almost fit on the chair next to me - looking forward to that day! I can walk her to the park 1.5 miles away, and not even think twice about it. My next goal with her is to be able to run next to her bike to teach her to ride without training wheels. If I'm not there before winter hits, that's ok, cause I will never see those 102 lbs again, and I know next spring I will be able to teach her to ride. Yes, my life has changed so much for the better. What's more important to me, is that my daughter's life has changed for the better as well - she now has a mobile mom. Today I went to workout while she had a therapy appt - when I picked her up (across the parking lot from the gym) she got all excited - 'Mom - your face is all red - are you ok - you're all sweaty?" Yup - I was doing great - I had to explain it was from exercise, and it's a good thing (oooh didn't mean to sound like martha there). One of these days I'll get a new picture out there. Thanks to all of you for your constant support and caring - even those lurkers. Just knowing you are all there to listen, to lend a shoulder when it's needed, and to rejoice during the good times is such an incredible help. Love you all, mgm -102 since 12/6 -83 since surgery. and since I've never been "avg" weight, don't know how far I'm going!!

Congratulations!!! Good job on the loss. Keep up the good work. It is great that having this surgery helped you to improve at least 2 lives. It will magnify just like a pebble thrown into a pond. Grins, Kaye

Marla, How wonderful! Isnt it great to be able to do more with your little one? My son is 6 and he always says to me "mommy is it me or are you getting skinny!" or he will say "my mommy is skinny!" (not quite there yet but working on it!) It just feels great to know we are on our way. You are doing so awesome! I wish you continued success!!! Blessings! Elizabeth M
