Not me. But I am sure it is better to know before surgery.

I didn't have that either, but I have read where some doctors test for it or just aitomatically put patients on antibiotics just in case of any stomach or intestinal infections.

I was tested for h. pylori bacteria. The test was positive, and I was put on an antibiotic ****tail to kill the bacteria prior to surgery. The h. pylori bacteria can cause ulcers. I've never heard of an infected stomach.

Thank you so much for reply. That is what I had also. How long after you were treated did you have your surgery ? Just curious. Been waiting so long for this surgery. Getting anxious. And how did you get tested to make sure this was gone? Thanks

h pylori is a bacteria that is very frequently found infecting the lining of stomachs. It does not cause any symptoms for a long time, but can eventually cause ulcers or even cancer. However, they would not want to do surgery with an active infection. It is hard to get rid of--they usually have to give at least 2 types of antibiotics. Once it is gone, you should not have any more problems from it. Just good that you found it and are treating it. Good luck on a speedy date! Joy
