OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm right there with you!?!?? I have noticed that you and I seem to be some of the slower losers and I weighed myself today and noticed a scary 4 lb gain. This came after losing 5 lbs in week and that never happens to me. I am a solid 6 lb loss a month girl, no more, no less. I have my "friend" visiting but that is usually when I lose weight, to see a gain is depressing the hell out of me. Hopefully it's just some fluke and our scales have freaked out-hopefully!!!! Here's wishing you and me the best of luck that those scales start heading south like there supposed to be soooon. Dawn -86 lbs
OK Elizabeth......Time for a deep breath.....Lets think....
You say that you had a bad week. OK, but no matter how bad it was, I doubt very much that all 5 lbs is real gain. I'll bet that there's water weight there too. But even in the worst case, and it's all real, look how far you have come and what wonderful things you have accomplished. One setback is NOT, NOT, NOT going to ruin everything!!! I have always been an "All or Nothing at All" person on the subject of weight. You sound like one too. We need to lose this mindset and pick ourselves up when we fall and carry on. All is not lost because of one slip-up. I'm extremely proud of you for posting your problem. Its really easy to talk about your success, but much harder to confess your "sins". I have been struggling for the last few months with the Plateau from Hell! The scale is just now starting to move down again. I did not let it get me down because I still feel so much better than I did Pre-Op. How about you??? I know that it's really hard to do, but you need to put this behind you; go back to basics; and carry on. Think about all of the good things that you have done and stop beating yourself up. I'm sending along a BIG CYBER HUG and hope that it helps a little. Cheer up, you have much to be happy about!!!
Mike
Thanks so much you guys!!! I feel alot better knowing I am not alone. We will get through this. It must be transition time for us Marchers. I do need to go back to basics and will remember what I use to look like and what I now look like and how I now feel, because it is such a blessing! I need to stay positive. Just seeing those numbers was such a shock!!!
We WILL get to goal! You guys are the best!!! (((hugs)))

Elizabeth, take it easy. The first thing you have to realize is at least part of that gain is due to your period; STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE FOR AT LEAST A WEEK. Next, you know what you have to do. Plan out your eating; protein first, with veggies and limited fruits -- no other carbs for right now, other than what's in your veggies and fruits. Do this for a week. Drink tons of water and walk, walk, walk. Finally, if you feel you are really becoming ensnared in all those habits and feelings that cause emotional binge eating, please, please, please make an appointment to talk with a therapist that can help you sort through it all. This gain is temporary, if you decide it is temporary. You are in control of your decisions, only you. And the lives we live are products of the decisions we make. Look at this like you took a wrong turn and, yeah, you may be out in the middle of nowhere and feeling pretty afraid right now, but all you have to do is simply turn around and walk the other way. Get back to your starting point. You'll be fine, sweetie. Take care. Love, Maureen
I believe everything you've written here, and I know they say not to get on the scale too much, but I find I have better control of my eating if I get on the scale EVERY DAY. And it's true, that some days I am hungrier than others. I thought it was related to my "friend" but I find it may not be because I also lose weight when it comes to visit. I am a creature of habit---Carb well bar for breakfast, 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 1/2 cup low carb yogurt for lunch. Sometimes some peanut butter if I get too hungry, or an extra carb well bar. I still find I get very full after a few bites of dinner. I'm new to this board, and quite frankly, it seems EVERYONE is doing GREAT. I'm 9 months out as of Dec 2, and down 100 lbs. I'm looking to shed another 10 to 15 lbs, which would bring me down to a size 4 or 6. Talk about the impossible dream! Take care and keep up the posts. I love to read how well everyone is doing!!---Joan
