Tickle in back of throat & coughing

Hey, ya'll! I've been having this tickle in the back of my throat which throws me into a coughing fit. It makes my eye tear up and sometimes make me retch like I am going to throw up. It has become pretty servere. I thought it was alergies, so I've been taking allergy/sinus medicine, but it's not helped. I've also bought some Robotusin DM, but that's not working either. I was just wondering if this might be a symptom of something ya'll might of heard of or maybe a defiency of some sort. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! CP 309/154/144 3/11/04

Cee Cee, haven't heard anything like this being associated with the surgery. Do you have other allergy or cold-like symptoms? Tis the season for allergies but if you're concerned, talk to your doctor or surgeon. Reenie

What a coincidence you should bring this up. Since, my surgery 2/12/04 I have noticed that every now & then my epiglotis feels like it sticks & I go into a major coughing/gag fit. I have found also that I always carry a lozenger of some sort in my pocket for these emergencies. I did not have this problem before surgery but also don't understand what surgery would have to do with it either. I'm interested to hear any other feed back. Margaret
