Leaving on a jet plane

Two causes for celebration: 1) I got my internet/ lan problem fixed. Apparently a neighbor installed a lan and my computer was trying (in vain) to access the internet through his connection instead of mine. Duh! Computers can be SO stupid! 2) I am headed to the Florida Keys for diving. This will be the first scuba diving trip since WLS and I can't wait! The fatter you are the more weight you have to wear to make you sink, so I was used to diving with a lot of lead. This is not a handicap IN the water but it sure made it tough getting back in the boat with all the weight I had + 50 lbs of dive gear + extra lead. I have no idea how much lead I will need now, but I think I may not need but a couple of pounds! What a difference! I leave Wednesday and will spend 4 days in the Key Largo area and 4 days in the Key West area. It will be interesting to see how much longer my air lasts, but my DH usually breathes off mine anyway! I will try to bring back a story or two, but I'm sure I can't rival Connie's Capers! Joy

Joy, I'm so envious! It was a diving incident that caused me to seriously get off my rear and find a solution for my weight problem once and for all. I know how embarrassing it is to have the dive master keep adding weight to your belt or worse yet, have them drop it when you come out of the water because it's so darned heavy. I'm really excited for you and can't wait to see how the trip goes. If you do any snorkeling, remember that you sink now and won't be able to float effortlessly at the top like before. Fat floats. Hugs, Connie

Joy, I am also jealous I love to dive and have been certified for about 15 years now. I have not done much of it in the last 5 years or so. My issue was not the extra weight (that does suck though) but when I had to find a wetsuit that would fit expecialy if I had to rent one it was always soo embarasing to try on the largest female size (with the dive master usually or the sales person at the dive shop) and have it not even come close to fitting. Then I always had to go to the mens size and they just don't fit in the right places. Anyway I should take a refresher course and try it again. You have a fantastic trip and if you are out on the reef off of Key Largo tell the resedent shark that I said Hi (had a run in with him a while ago). Let us know how it went and post some pic's. I got around the wet suit problem by not wearing one--I just wore the skins. A size large stretches really well! Besides I had so much insulation that I never got cold. I may freeze this time though! Joy
