Five weeks, final drain out, staples out, funky undies

Well, today it has been five weeks since my Belt Lipectomy and I had a visit with the Dr. last night. He was very happy with my healing, removed my final drain and removed all of my staples. I was provided with two pairs of a garment that is basically a pair of compression shorts with a high waist, however the groin region is open. I'll wear this for the next two weeks and see him again to see if I'm 100% cleared. When I modeled the shorts for my wife, I demostrated that it caused the junk in the front to protrude out of the open spot more then normal undies, I thought I would continue to wear them long after they are needed to continue the enhancement of the package. A male version of the push up bra I quess. I'm kidding of course, I'll be out of them as soon as I'm allowed. Up to this point, I wore a binder that I needed help getting on, so I'm happy to have my independence back. I can begin running again next week, and had planned that my entire family would compete in a regional road race on April 23rd. The Ice Breaker is a fun event and I ran my first 5K last year and had planned on running the 10K this year had I had surgery in December. However, when my surgery was moved back I adjusted my goal to having the entire family run the 5K. That would mean my wife and three daughters ages 11 & 8 would run the race. However, we learned today that the twins will have their First Communion at the same time as the run. Oh well, we all know what is more important and there is always next year. I think my energy level would be nearly 100% if I hadn't caught the first bad cold I have had since my prior surgery. Not that I was ever sick much, but it was funny to me how I went two years without catching a major cold. Others around me would have them, and I would get a stuffy nose or sore throat for a day and that was it. This last cold put me on my back for three days and I'm still fighting it a bit. I'm sure it has something to do with my immune system being down due to surgery, but still. Anyway, the worst is long gone and I'll take some pictures tomarrow to post on my picture trail sight. And no, it won't include my push up shorts!

She dishes it out too, that is how we stay together. In anycase, I have yet to be cleared to do any pumping, weights included. LOL I'm told that will change next week, so my crotchless undies may come in handy after all. Glad you seem to be heading towards full recovery. Yesterday was the first day I didn't need to take a quick nap at lunch, so I seem to be headed in the right direction. Keep it up.

No guts, no glory buddy! Happy to hear you are drain-free and get to start resuming your activities. That has to be very liberating, indeed! Dina

Listen here, you of all people know that I'm not shy. I have no problem taking more " graphic" pictures. If the desire is there, I can always comply however we, as men, are always reminded that women aren't as visual as men and have little interest in such matters. So don't go attempting to dare me to do it, cause I have no inhibitions.

Well, see that's the difference. I can talk a blue streak, but I *AM* deep down shy and have lotsa inhibitions. But poking fun and goading you is just too damned much fun....so I just gotta do it! Dina

Yo Dawg...... I'm glad to hear that you're making such good progress. I've noticed that I also don't seem to catch all of the "bugs" that are going around these days. Also, when I do catch one, it doesn't seem to affect me the way it affects others.(is it affect or effect? I always confuse the two!) I also noticed that my allergies are much milder these days. I assume that better nutrition helps....I also wonder if my allergies are milder because I have less fat constricting my nasal passages??? Any ideas? As for the crotchless undies.....I'll back off and let the ladies run with that one!!! LOL Mike

I'm not sure what to attribute it to, but like I said I just didn't get sick over the past two years. I do know that the Docs where telling me that I would do so much better going under this time around compared to two years ago due to less fatty tissue. I wasn't aware of it, but I quess they had a heck of a time getting the tube down my fat throat two years ago, but had no problems this time. Plus I understand some of the byproducts of going under reside in fatty tissue, so you have a tougher time getting over it. I certainly had no problems with that this time. I do think that your body being more efficent had something to do with it, and general overall better health too. Whatever the reason, I'll take it. Regarding your comment on the undies, I'm glad you didn't go "Brokeback" on me. We'll leave that to the ladies.
