Congrats! I would be excited too..I hope to have mine sometime this spring or summer but I will have to go the insurance route...They have said that they will pay for whatever I need done as long as its medically necessary so I aim to prove it is...Good luck...Let me know how it goes cause I am going to be getting all mine done the same day as well..I am curious about the pain, recovery, etc. Angela

Thats me, I want it over and done with. I know they have financing if the insurance doesn't pay, but if they say they are going to pay and they have been pretty good so far about it, then I hope they do.. Good luck..

I am also a military wife with Tricare and I was told the same thing about it having to be medically necessary. However, there are many ways around that.. such as rashes developed from the excess skin, pain from the hanging of the skin, etc.. I know of people here that have had their plastics paid for by Tricare and others that have not. I think that patience is a virtue with Tricare especially in this area. Hurricane Katrina has our whole program down here messed up, so it is hard to even get follow up appointments, our hospital was flooded and everything is running day to day here. I wish the best of luck with your endeavors. Happy healing.. Rhonda

Angel, I am looking forward to seeing your future posts about your surgery. How exciting for you! And just a year after your original surgery - what a success story. Becky

I'm so happy for you, but I have to admit I'm insanely jealous. I can't lose this weight no matter what I do and I'm discouraged and disgusted and frustrated. Can you help or give me any suggestions since you lost so fast? My story in a nutshell is that I lost about 60lbs in my first 10 weeks and then stopped dead for 4 months despite eating perfectly and exercising in the gym about 6 days a week for at least an hour and walking my dog 2-4 miles a day. Since that plateau broke, my loss has been sporadic at best. I fell back into bad habits at the end of the plateau but have been back on program since September. And I can't lose. I have tried eating more and exercising less at the suggestion of the exercise physiologist at my program, and eating less and exercising more (which is hard since I eat only 800-1000 calories a day and exercise still 5-6 times a week for at least an hour and don't have much more time than that) and I've tried upping my protein more, eating more veggies, eating more carbs, eating fewer carbs, drinking more water, drinking less water, adding in protein shakes, eliminating protein shakes... nothing works. Any help or suggestions? I'm baffled and depressed about this whole thing and am loaded with regrets. Any help or suggestions a huge success like you can give me would be so appreciated you ahve no idea. And congrats on the plastics. I'll likely mortgage my house and do exactly what you're doing when my time comes as well. If it ever comes. Thanks, and good luck! Mary Ellen 3/16/05 282/ 276(day of surgery)/ 194/170?
