I am 5'2". I'm a shorty! It's amazing to me that we're talking about reaching our goals at just 10 months out. I thought it would come much later. Exciting, huh?

Just checking in with everyone for my 10 month anniversary today. I am down 107 lbs and I am thrilled. This month was a little rough with the holidays and trips etc. but I still managed to lose 4 lbs. This is quite the adventure, isn't it. My goal is to get to 150 lbs by my 45th birthday in June. I think I may just make it!

Congratulations Elena! After reading your profile, I discovered we have a lot in common! I had surgery the day after you did at Unity with Dr. Johnson - also the first patient of the day. I love Brenda and she's very supportive and helps keep all of us on track. I'm having a bit of a harder time at this point, sticking to the plan. I need a kick! Do you attend any of the support groups? If so, which one? I'm thinking that's what I need. Congratulations on your success so far!

Patti,
sorry to hear about you winding up in the hospital. I'm glad you dropped 5 more lbs but that's not the way you want to do it. The weight will come off just give it some time. Before you know it you'll be around goal or at goal. Keep up the good work and be healthy.
Take Care,
Deborah W.

congratulations Elena,
We are surgery sisters. I had my surgery on the same day as you. I was my Doctors first patient of the day. I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 am. What a day I'll never forget. You are so right about your life changing and that it's not been an easy road but it's been so worth it. So far I've lost 121 lbs. I still wear a 12-14 but I'm 5'8 so I look very good. I too would do this surgery over again if I had to in a heart beat.
Keep up the good work!
Deborah W.

Elena,
I am very impressed with your weight loss! I am happy for you - that is an amazing loss! I am trying to decide what I think a good weight would be for me. Can you tell me how tall you are?

I had bariatric surgery on 3/21/05. I weighed in at 250 lbs. My highest weight was 265. Yesterday I went out and bought a suit in a size 6 and it fit perfectly!
When friends would ask me what my goal is I would jokingly answer that I would someday be a size 6. I can't believe I am there! My weight goal is 125. I am currently at 140. My goal weight is so close I can almost taste it! I cannot believe how successful this surgery has been for me. I thank God every day that I chose to have this surgery. It has truly changed my life. It hasn't been easy but it has been soooooo worth it. I am living life to the fullest. Less than a year ago I could hardly climb a set of stairs. I don't post much but I love to read the message board every day to see how my fellow Marchers are doing. Thank you for the support!

Ok... I ended up in the hospital on Sunday!! Woke up about 2 A.M. with excruciating stomach pains...thought it was from soup beans I had for supper!! Nope!!! Started throwing up and ended up in the hospital at noon. They said I was throwing up blood. Ended up sending me 3 hrs away in an ambulance to the hospital where I had my surgery. Was there for 3 days. Doc did a barium xray and was gonna do a scope but after blood work and xray came back ok decided it was just a bug!! Wow!!
But hey the good thing that came out of is was that I lost 5 lbs while I was there!! That was pretty awesome!! Dont really want to lose it that way but I am now 5 lbs from the Century Club!!! Yippee!! Down from 270 to 175!!! I also was talking to a lady there that asked me why I came so far to the hospital. I told her that was where I had my surgery and she said..well you dont need to lose weight!! Wow what a feeling!!!
Anyway..sorry for rambling..just excited about the 5 lbs!!!
Have a good weekend all
