Topic: RE: Joined a gym
I looove going to the gym! They built a new YMCA near me and it's beautiful! Brand new everything. The people are great, and are all colors, ages, shapes and sizes. And everyone is friendly, even the swizzle stick super Mom types who don't have an ounce of fat on them. There are even a few MO folks there, so I never feel out of place! I use a personal trainer and find it invaluable. He keeps my routines fresh and keeps me working on different muscle groups. He's also a great cheerleader for me.
My BF got me an iPod Nano for Christmas (already gave it to me, bless him!) and I've got to tell you, it's made my fun gym experience into an amazing experience. I don't even notice the tiem going by on the elliptical anymore! So if you're into music, I think a little music player of some sort could make a big difference for you.
As for cost, I pay $50 a month for a membership as a single person. But I go 5-6 days a week. WE have all new equipment, a beautiful pool, a spinning room, aerobics classes and a sauna. A great investment in my phsyical and mental health for just $50 a month! I would be lost without it. I used to go to Curves, too, but got bored within a couple months and the hours were horrible and inconvenient. The Y is open till 10 every night, and I usually get there about 8:30 since I don't get home from work till about 7.
Good luck to you!
Topic: RE: Gas, Gallbladder ??
I had my gallbladder out in 1996, and had just one attack. It was after eating egg salad. I had a kind of dull, but harsh persistent pain just under my right rib, more towards the center of my body than my side. It was intense, but not stabbing or throbbing or anything. It lasted for hours. I went to the ER after about 6 hours of it. I figured it was my gallbladder. I had 2 stones, each the size of a robin's egg, and my gallbladder abscessed, so I had to be on antibiotics for 10 days before they could take it out. I don't remember the pain moving around as I moved, but mostly I was lying in bed (it hit about midnight) so I was curled up in a fetal position on my side.
Now, gas is another story. I get horrible horrible gas pains if I eat even slightly too many carbs. I don't dump much (but I don't eat sugar anymore) but the gas is intense. WAY more painful than my gallbladder ever was, and it can last for days. Walking helps me fart it out, but generally it has to work itself out.
I would not hesitate to get your pain checked out. If it's your gallbladder you want to get it addressed before you abscess and get a big infection, and if it's gas you need to know that to prevent it in the future. Good luck.

Whatever it is---don't ignore it toooo long----I was having symptoms at 7 mths out---doc said to let them know what I wanted to do---thought I would play it off--try to control it with diet etc---and thought I could wait till spring and have a TT at the same time ---WRONG---I called them back within one week and said "Its got to go"--so just prior to my 8 mark the old gallbladder and small hernia had to go---It took a little recovery time---sort of like learning to eat again--but now back to normal---just now tend to get more gasy than I did before GB removal--so please check it out---it can be painful----I was nausea, having pain in my mid to upper right back--and literally thought I would die---not a good feeling---Now I can look back and be grateful that old sucker is gone---and Not all surgeons take it out at the time of bypass--mine don't and I didn't have a sickly one prior to surgery either---Just this dang weightloss---got the best of it!
Best wishes and hope you feel better soon!
