Topic: Onederland--this time for realsies!!
A couple months ago, I thought I had reached below 200 lbs, only to find that our home scale was WAY off. Last month, I started using my parent's old scale, which was far more accurate.
This morning I stepped on the scale and it read 199. I stepped on it three more times and it all said 199. It so happens that my annual physical was today, so I went to the doctor's office, stepped on the scale...
...AND I AM STILL AT 199!!! ONEDERLAND after 26 years!!!
I'm getting teary-eyed just writing this.
AND TODAY IS MY 9-MONTH ANNIVERSARY!
But, since I have slowed down so much, I am pulling my goal back up to a more realistic figure. As of today, my goal weight is 185 lbs. 14 lbs. to go!

Topic: RE: cravings????
Are you kidding? What have I not been craving. Chocolate, potato chips and just junk food in general. I have rededicated myself to a regimine of protein, water, vitamins and exercise. I am trying to stay strong during this holiday season (but in truth have not had a lot of success). I had surgery on 3/8/05 with a starting weight of 307 and I am currently 227 so I have a lot of work to continue doing. Best of luck fighting those food demons.
Topic: RE: PLATEAU BLUES!!!! ANY IDEAS???
I have lost some in size. Eventhough my weight has not changed much I am down in a 14. But it is frustrating to keep hovering. I will lose 3 lbs, then gain 1 lb, then nothing changes for a while, then lose 1/2 lb.
I am meeting with my nutritionist on the 16th to go over my food plan and examine labs so we can see how to kick start things again.
I also have been emailing vitalady who had some really great tips and I think I may see some improvement. I HOPE SO!!!!! You know we have gone through some much, you just don't want to have suffered the pain, long recovery, mood swings etc to not get to your ultimate goal and maintain your goal.
This is a chance of a lifetime and I just don't want to blow it now or EVER!!!!

Plateau....I hate it. I have been in the 230's for 2 months now.....up a pound down 2 ....back up and down. It is enough to make someone insane. However, I have dropped 2 sizes in those months. When I saw the doctor in October for my 6 mth, I was in a 20, and I went shopping last week and bought a 16 in jeans.
Have you lost any sizes? I would love to see that scale fall below 230, but I will take the 2 sizes!
Good Luck!!

Congratulations Terry! Welcome to Century Club! I'm with you that sometimes it doesn't seem like we've lost 100. I think we're still behind in the time table thing. Enjoy it - that's a great accomplishment!

Well good for you Melanie! It's hard to believe that you're at goal after just 8 short months. How ironic is it that we (obese people) spend the better part of our lives unhealthy and unhappy and because of this tool, 8 months later, life is so rosey!!! CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS!!!

Well, that is just thrilling! I can hardly believe that you are going to be wearing a bikini. That is fantastic and I am excited for you. Lucky, lucky you! I haven't been on a cruise, but I hear they are lots of fun. Have a great time!
