Topic: PLATEAU BLUES!!!! ANY IDEAS???
Hello to allmy wonderful March buddies- Most of you are doing superb on the weight loss. I feel as though I am the thorn in everyone's side. Some of you know that I had that scarry bought of mal-nutrition and starvation and then came out of it. But since then I ham having a really difficult time lsoing. I stall- pick up a lbs and then lose suddenly and then stall etc, etc. I am frustrated. My weight at first consult was 286, by surgery date it was 273, it was 181 last week and now it is 185. I am currently on steriods for my lungs (getting over pneumonia) but really- this is getting frustrating. Overall I've lost 101 lbs but really only 88 since day of surgery. I am feeling lost. There were so many changes made to my diet to address my mal-nutrition. My endocronologis and nutritionist had me add more carbs because my ketosis was way to high and kept me in dehydration. Then reduced meat products to cut back vomitting. Then switched me to milk protien drinks and then back to regular- it got dizzying. ANyway- now that I am on a more regular diet I am having difficulty losing at a consistant pace. I feel like a failure. I so want to get down under 173 so I can say I've lost 100 lbs since surgery itself. Any ideas out there. Oh and I'm sure you want to know if I am exersizing. The answer is mostly no. I have a spinal cord disorder being treated and am in physical therapy. They are asking me to be caeful for now. I should be cleared to increase exersize in 3 weeks. Up to this point my mal-nutrition prevented me from exersizing. Can anyone relate, encourage, help??????????? In advance- you guys are the best!!!!!!

Well, I personally think this is too early but my surgeon suggested I go ahead and start researching plastic surgeons. I still have another 50 pounds to lose before I get to where I want to be, but like my surgeon says its never to early to find out what I will have to do to be approved for plastics. My insurance says they will pay for the plastics as long as they are medically necessary. Help! What do I complain about with my bat wings? Sores, rashes? What? I complain about yeast under my breast, tummy, around my "u know who" every time I see my surgeon and about how the skin between my legs rubs together and stays sore, but on the bat wings, what the heck do u complain about!!!! I'm also 5'7.5" tall, and currently weigh about 204. I wear a size 16 jeans if they are stretch, size 18 if not, though they're baggy in the ass and thighs. I'm a total apple shape. On top I wear a 16 or 18, although I'm wearing mostly sweaters these days as my upper arms aren't the same size and I have trouble fitting my right upper arm into blouses. All that extra skin just makes them too tight! And if I buy a bigger blouse they bad and look horrible. I wear a regular size XL or L in sweaters, depending on how baggy I want them. Regular pants and skirts I can wear a 16 or 18, or sometimes a 14W depending on the cut and shape. There's no rhyme or reason to this. I don't expect to ever get below 170 as I'm really muscular and have a really big frame. My shoulders are really huge and even more noticeable now that I've lost weight. I have no waist at all, BUT, I have GREAT legs! Short skirts here I come! Great idea for a post, really interesting responses! Mary Ellen

You know--I can see jsut where you are coming from Michelle. I feel like I should be further down teh road than where I am at now but for what it is worth it has been one hell of a ride. Currently I am: I have came from a 28-30 pants down to a 18-20 pants. I have went from a 28-30 shirt to a 22-24 shirt (or basically a good 2X} I tend to be a bit more on the pear shaped myself but I do hope it breaks in time. becky 390/275/???

I am 5'7" weigh 176 and wear a M or 8-10 in tees and a 10-12 or L blouse and a 8-10 jeans and 10-12 slacks. I am large framed (broad shoulders, large hands and wrists etc) and think that why I am able to fit the smaller sizes even though my weight is still up there. I guess that technically I am an hour glass shape but since my boobs have vanished I would say I am more a rectangle *lol* I hace gone from 46 C to a 36 B ugh!! Jeannie 315-175->155

aha--i'm not alone! 16 sisters, hehe. you're right though, i had gotten to where even some 24's didn't fit anymore, so i'm happy about 16. guess i just had this idea that once i got under 170 i'd be seeing magical numbers below 14. we'll get there! i noticed not too long ago (when i went from 18 to 16) that things just kinda shifted all of a sudden, i had only lost 1-2 lbs that week but suddenly it seemed like all my clothes were falling off. hopefully i'm due for another shift soon!
