Topic: RE: when does it stop?
I just turned 50 in Oct and was quite a bit bigger than you so needless to say I hate my body, but I do like being 150lbs lighter. Hopefully the tummy tuck helps alot but the thighs yuk. I need to start saving money for all the plastics up ahead. I had my surgery March 3rd.

Dear Highly, Everyone loses at a different rate. I think it depends on your starting weight as well as many other factors. You have done wonderfully. Please keep your head high and smile as you pat yourself on the back. Try not to worry so much about the fluctuations in the scale and live! You are a success! Congratulations!

I agree with the other posters, I think you're doing great! Not everyone loses more than a hundred pounds in 5 or 6 months. I was all bummed out about my 75lbs or so at my 6 month appt with my surgeon and he was thrilled with my loss and said it's a typical and normal loss, and that I was doing just as I should be doing. We are more "normal" with our losses than those who, for whatever reason, lose tons quickly. I am now just trying to keep my eye on the ultimate goal, which is to get to a healthy weight. If/when I get there, that will be what's important to me, not how fast I got there. For whatever reason, in spite of eating right and exercising my ass off, I hit a 4 month plateau when I was 2 months out of surgery. Really knocked my head for a loop, let me tell you. And I lose in fits and spurts, nothing gradual or even. Seems I lose like 10lbs in about 2 days when I lose it. We are all so very different in how we lose. I wish you continued success!

Topic: RE: Our weight loss by month
Great question!
My weight loss has slowed down a lot this month. I weigh myself everyday and I would religiously track my weightloss. I still weigh everyday, but I realized that I haven't written down my weight for the last 2 weeks. I am losing a little more slowly than most, but it's coming off and the scale eventually moves down, so I'm happy. Here is my tally.
1 mo -21
2 mo -11
3 mo -09
4 mo -12
5 mo -05
6 mo -10
7 mo -06
8 mo -03
Total: -77 post op. -102 total
