Topic: RE: Help me get to Onederland!! Please...
Sure Lets start one - can't hurt right? I've seen challenges done in a couple of different ways. I belong to a rowing team (haven't done that in 3 months) there are a number of teams and you just join one and then log your rowing mileage. It is just a challenge to get your team to the top. I've also seen something similar online at ediets (joined them years ago). You also had teams and then each team added up their total exercise time for the week. No prizes just bragging rights for the month. If we wanted to do an individual challenge we could just have everyone log on the OH March board the amount of time they exercised each week. We could have some rules like it has to be in increments of at least 15 minutes and has to get your heart rate up, not just doing normal chores etc. Perhaps as a prize the winner after one month could get congratulatory emails from everyone and their name and accomplishment would be posted on the main board. I'm open to any suggestions. corgimom

Topic: I did something for me today.....
Hi all, I know this may sound silly, but I have always wanted a tattoo... when I was really heavy, I would have never done it but today I DID IT!!! Actually, I got 2- a butterfly over a daisy. I wasn't too terrible and I really like it! It is on my shoulder so no one has to see it unless I want them too. Just another reason to be happy that I decided to have the surgery! Terri

Janice, I had not heard that but it really does make sense. I will just cut them out (except a few sweet potatos over Thanksgiving!) and see if that helps - along with some exercise! Terri

Topic: RE: Great article on WLS window of opportunity
Great article. You know it stands to reason that why should our weight loss suddenly halt after 12-18 months if we are following the same guidelines that we did all along. I have to say, that I was also under the belief that there was a so-called "window". I am 7 months out, and down 123 lbs. I am thrilled with my loss, but am not at my goal weight. I do know that after investigating WLS for a year, and finally deciding to do it, I was so ready for this, and knew that it was a rest of life decision. I tell people, "No, I cannot eat sugar". They say "Ever?". I say "ever". I don't know if I dump, I don't want to know. I have been strictly compliant with my diet. I know that I have not eaten a morsel of bread, pasta, or anything sweet in 7 months. I do not feel deprived. I feel proud. I have made an enormous accomplishment and I am in control of my body. Finally! Eileen

Topic: RE: Sick of this roller coaster ride!
Hi there! I'm getting tired of the ride myself! Last month I only lost a whopping 2 pounds total (-4 at the peak) but I lost two inches or more everywhere, now this month (which ended yesterday, as I go from 11th to 11th...) I also had a total of 2 with a max of 4. Last month I flip flopped btwn 159 and 155, this month btwn 155 and 151, and this time I only lost an inch all over! I've been walking 3-6 miles a day, but I fear that maybe I'm beyond walking's help...Today I'm going to try a liquid day to see if that helps. Once I get to 149 I'll be out of the obese category, am I just holding on to those last few for comfort?? Good luck to us all, I'm sure glad it's not just me!

I'm doing the same thing right now. Last month I only lost 5 lbs. Since I hit Onederland and the Century Club at the same time it's like I'm at a stand still and it's driving me crazy!!!!!!!!! I'm right there with you though, I'm very very grateful for the weight that I've lost, but I really do want to get to at least 170 and last time I dared to get on that mean scale all it said was the same old 194, 193, ha ha ha ha...it's teasing me, tormenting me so, will this ever end????? You know....That is not a bad idea. I find that my weight loss has been so slow too...I have been up and down the same pounds for almost 2 months now. My arms are jsut up in the air on what to do but yet all I hear is that the pounds will eventually come off. I believe it will. WLS has been a god send and if I dont lose any more the nso be it--that is what GOd meant for me. But I really want more. I too like Terri have a hard time with the exercise--I am gone from dusk till dawn--and when you are byyourself as far as exercise doing--it is hard to really get motivated. Maybe this is something that can get us back off on the feet we need to be. If there is a challenege started please let me know cause I would love to be with it. Much love to all, Becky
