Hi Dianne. Nice to hear from you. Thanks for sharing about your dumping. It helps. Good luck at the doctor's. Is this a regular check-up, or are you having something special done? What a difference a year makes! You also look great! I'm so glad to be back on-board and see the progress everyone is making. Let's keep it up! Peg

Wow! I guess I would have known I was dumping if my symptoms were as pronounced as yours! Thanks for the feedback, and you look wonderful, Lara!! Peg

Thanks for the input, Beth. I know these are questions that my doctor could probably have answered, but my symptoms have been pretty mild, and I have been concentrating more on the other problems with my stomach....polyps, etc. Thanks again! Peg

Topic: See my new picture
Well, OH has posted my latest picture on my profile. I asked if I was going to be on the before and after gallery but I'm not yet. I wonder how long before that's posted. I know some people are on there that haven't lost 100 pounds quite yet and I'm only 3 pounds away. Still stuck though. Starting to get disappointed. I don't want to be finished yet. But like Melting Mama I have been on carbs way too much. I need to get re-focused. Help!!! Tina

The other day I bought dinner at the grocery meatloaf and sqaush. Well the sqaush must have been loaded with sugar because I dumped big time. It's always weird I'm like what's happening especially after eating what I thought was a healthy dinner. Oh well. I'm in St. Louis and go to the doctor Tuesday. I'm excited. Dianne 340/158/?

Beth took care of dumping - all of those are exactly what I get too. I also have problems with vomiting after I eat something that's too high in fat for my pouch's pleasure. Also - I cannot take even a very small sip of liquids after eating solids. I get a horrible "floaty" feeling and then end up vomiting. When eating very dense foods like steak or chicken breast it helps to have a sauce of some sort to help it be less harsh on the pouch, and also I take VERY SMALL bites (like the size of a pencil eraser) and then chew until applesauce consistancy. When I stray from doing that, I can get problems with discomfort or vomiting. All that being said - I wouldn't trade places with where I used to be for anything in the world. Keep on keeping on Peg, ~Lara -210+ @goal

Topic: RE: Family....
Hi Rae. When I first starting reading your post, I originally thought that your family was just jealous of you; however, after rereading it, I really think that they must love you a lot and are concerned about you and your health. They have been there for you at your heaviest, and they are probably just concerned that you will go to the other extreme and get anorexic. I think about all you can do is to let them know that you hear their concern for you and that you know they love you very much. I would stress that you are committed to taking good care of your body and that you are under the care of a very competent, capable doctor who is monitoring your weight loss progress. I would stress that part, Rae. If they know that you really are healthy and are not going to the extreme, but rather are following "doctor's orders", they will hopefully give you a break. Regardless, you need to listen to yourself and do what is best for you. I sometimes think that we care just too darn much about what other people think...even well-intentioned family. Good luck, and do let us know how things are going for you. Peg

Topic: Family....
Met my sister, her kids (all grown) and their husbands/wives, and kids today...haven't seen them in about 2 months... We hadn't been together more than 15 minutes, when they all started in on me that I am looking too thin...and how much lower do I want to go... Told them I am 12 lbs from my high goal and that I was comfortable with that...they started in on how thin I am through my neck/shoulders... We cooked out, had steaks and all the trimmings...they were all kidding me that they were going to save the largest steak for me.....to fatten me up... I know that they are not "jealous" of my loss...in fact, they have been very supportive... so, I am trying to figure out if they just don't "recognize" me as thinner, or if I am indeed at "goal"... I did mention to them that perhaps if they had not known me heavy, they would not think I am "thin".... they all disagreed.... My sister asked me what size I am...told her a solid size 10...she came back with....you don't look any bigger than an 8... oh well, time will tell..... I guess I am disappointed that I am not to goal yet, and folks are starting to get on me about how thin I am looking...but I really do believe that if they met me for the first time today, they would not think I am too thin.... I know other folks have had this same problem....thanks for letting me ponder this... Anyone have any good comebacks for folks who believe they are helping by pointing out that someone is too thin?? thanks RAE

Oh yes - it alway****s me 15-45 minutes after eating. And, also that excessively full feeling can hit if you're not chewing well enough, or if the food you have eaten SWELLS in the pouch. Very uncomfortable. Hang in there. Beth
