Hi my name is marilyn and I had the lap band done April of this year 07 don't feel so bad my doctor found a hernia at the time of surgery, so my recovery has been forever. In the first 2 weeks of surgery I had lost 12 pounds I couldn't eat anything really. But as weeks went by I visited my doctor for the check-up regarding my surgery and my first fill.My doctor asked me if I was still in pain, so I had to be truthful \"I was" and still today I am recovering. I have gain my weight back, I am 5 feet1 and weight is 195 pounds.I went back to my appointment again and my doctor said to me he will give me my fill on" Monday\" well guess what I had to cancel, here I am with the flu.I can't believe my luck I am not looking forward in being weighed. My daughter brought a cake for me for mother's day "big mistake" I don't know what came over me that is my weakness I ate half almost all of the cake by myself, I felt guilty after but I am just so upset I feel like why did I get this lap band. I wish I can do some exercise but who wants to work out feeling sick.I pray that Thursday my doctor gives me a full- fill- that way I can start my journey in loosing and believing the lap-band works. My email address is [email protected] you can reach me any time looking forward of hearing from you.

What a great wow moment for you. Doesn't it feel just great getting down into new sizes, it still amazes me in a store dressing room when I try on clothes I can't believe that I am looking at myself. Sher

I'm at 187, down from 325 and my original goal was 180. My doctor seems to think that I'm at the lowest I can get, but I still think another 8 pounds is doable, since I'm just starting to exercise on a regular basis.

Ruth, I find it amazing 16 misses in jeans. I can wear 12 or 14 in pants with elastic in them. It is so wonderful to shop for clothes and not have to look in the women or the plus sizes. I too started out in 28 or 30 jeans, and 3x shirts. I now wear 16 jeans and a size large or 14 shirts. I love it. lol Keep up the great work. Kathleen

I've been so chicken to try on jeans that have real numbers you know, 16 18 14.....so i remembered i had some jeans from other post op friends an thought, i think one of those jeans is a 14 so i went and looked....yes it is a 14....and i was able to get it buttoned and zipped without laying down....sitting down here on the pc the jeans are a tad tight...but woohoo....i'm down to a 14....who would have thought!! Me in a size 14..... started out in a 3x or 26 - 28 and now down to a 14 i mostly wear strech jeans with elastic waist's still but those are a large....so that's what a 12 to 14? woohoo go me...
