Thanks Shelly for your good wishes. No I am not from Windsor, I am up near Guelph (about 4 hours east from Windsor, an hour outside of Toronto) The waiting lists here for wls are huge - it takes about 2 years and all the red tape with OHIP is crazy! I luckily got approval without a hitch but then had to have sleep tests etc. so it was about 6 months from consult to surgery. You are lucky not have to deal with all this now. Julia P

Hi Julia Sorry to hear about your pain! Hope they make you better soon. Are you from Windsor? I am Canadian too, but live in Ohio now. So glad I did not have to go through OHIP for my surgery. Shelly

Could it be your gallbladder? Your WLS doc hopefully can help with some answers good luck! I know if I am not regular with bm's that I get a pain under my lower left side ribs that really hurts until I am cleaned out. Good luck, Jenni

Topic: What is this?
Just wondered if anyone else has had this. I have gotten these terrible abdominal pains since about 4 or 5 months out. They occur mostly at night and were once in a while but now it is more often than not. Also they last longer, from 1am into the next day. I have gone to my Dr. (gp) and he says keep my bowels regular and I have a hernia near my belly buttom (large). Thing is, is all this pain just from the hernia? How long does dumping last and how soon does it come on after eating? I am booked to see surgeon but can not get in for consult until June 25th (in Canada we wait forever). Any suggestions would be appreciated! I am seeing my wls surgeon on Monday in Ypsilanti, Michigan so hopefully he will add insight into the situation. I am getting tired of hugging the heating pad every night and burning my belly Hope everyone else is doing well. Congratulations to everyone on making it through their first year. Julia P

Jeanne, I know what you mean about gaining and losing the same four lbs since January. I was doing that too, until last week. I finally broke the spell, but dont know how. I lost 3 lbs last week. Yea. You will too, just keep up the exercise and get in as much liquid as you can. Keep us posted. Great job you have done. Kathleen
