I have lost 193 pounds. Losing 200 would put me right in the 'normal' weight category, but I'm not going to be THAT picky at this point. I am just happy to be this small.
Topic: Coming to America!
Woohoo!!!!

We finally booked it - and are coming to Texas for Christmas. We haven't been for 18 months and I'm homesick for it. This time we are staying in a hotel and instead of just visiting relatives, are treating it as a vacation. We are planning lots of fun stuff to do and are packing it all in - and of course I need to fit in shopping til I'm dropping!!!!
I'm sooo looking forward to getting on those planes and seeing how much space in my seat there is! I only just fit before wls and last time we went was still early out.
Yippee............................(now all I need to do is not have a fight with my step MIL while we are there!!!)

Topic: RE: How'd everyone do with the 5 day test?
Hi Karen
I found it really helpful in a few ways. I lost some weight (but put it back on again) and the carb cravings have nwo come back and I'm back to my old bad ways.
BUT...what it taught me is that I HAVE CONTROL IF I chose to exercise it. This was by far the greatest thing it could have given me. I now know that it is my choice what I am putting in my mouth, and that I know that if I need to I can chose to go on teh 5 day plan again (which I really need to do).
What I am trying to do now is have one day a week on fluids only, to use as a detox. I don't always make it through the whole day - it depends on how the day goes, etc. but this os my way of keeping in check.
It really did give me the mind boost that I needed - I totally understand on being driven crazy being stuck, and somehow even though my weight didn't suddenly start dropping like a stone it has changed my mindset and has helped in that way.
Whatever you chose, I hope it works out for you. You can always take one step at a time - try one day of fluids first and see how you get on.

Topic: RE: what have you learned? and helping others
Thanks, I still need to post recent ones... today I am 124lbs... I never thought I could say that..
Do look at the other board,, they are very nice people who are great and supportive.
PS you look amaizing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we are such a wonderful and successful group!!!!!!!
Topic: RE: what have you learned? and helping others
sure it does, I think the way we all helped each other was the best thing that could have happened.... But from the start we were like lost kids trying to find what was right for us all, no one pretending to "know it all" learning and sharing.... I do believe it made us very successful... I find it such a shame that others can't find that...
PS: yea! her AA comment had me rolling, I gained weight from a abdominal tumor and getting sick..when they took out the tumor I stayed fat (I gained all my weight in 6 mth's) (6 years later it did not go away and the doctors thought this surgery would"shock" me back to normal). I was not a food aholic.... I did and still love carbs, but was never obsessed about it...

Hi Holly
I usually stay on the May board just for that fact, we all care about each other and try and learn and stay positive. I have found Susan's board much the same... and the one thing I have learned from working in the medical field for over 20 years as well as personally knowing many doctors is they are human, and don't always give the right answers.... we are all so very different and our bodies are all different, sometimes their are no "right" answers.... But I do know that a group of people with direct experience is a good start. and I have learned so much on this journey, and continue to learn...we ALL helped each other it was the best thing that could have happened to me. we are a very supportive group and quite frankly, our experiences along the way and sharing have made us a very successful group....
Topic: RE: How'd everyone do with the 5 day test?
I just finished my five day test, and I have lost around five pounds so far (which is the amount that I have gained lately) and I think that I have gotten some of my night eating issues under control. It was an interesting thing to do, limiting choices and sticking to it. It has been a good reminder that I need to limit choices, just because I can eat it doesn't mean that I should...
