Ruth, I may try the protein shakes for the weekend, you know....small goals, and see how it goes!!! I wasn't very good today, snacked off and on on a cinnamon muffin that my son baked. We had Burger King for dinner, but they don't make chili anymore, so I was good and didn't order anything for myself, but came home and made a Lean Cuisene Panini sandwich. They are delicious. I'll let you know how I make out this weekend. Amy

Good luck Ruth. If you do well, I may try this. I am still at 158 and would like to move away from that 160 mark as soon as possible. Amy

Sorry, my mind must be mesed up with lack of food - I totally thought tomorrow was Friday, even though I know I'm not going to work oh well put it down to lack of calories So I'm pleased... Wednesday am 172 pounds This Morning am 168 pounds I have finally broken my plateu that I've been at since May of 169 and bounce up from but never got below Let's hope it keeps going in that direction. I'll have lost 100 pounds when I get to 166 - not far now, I can nearly taste it it is so close.

So I'm coming to the end of my day three - it's been tough, but hopefully worth it. I've eaten protein shakes tuna and eggs, and I had a few raisins and bites of cucumber. Plus LOTS of water. I've got a cold at the moment, so probably not the best time to do this, so have been VERY tired, and still have a headache, but that could be down to having a late night last night (I was out working - no NOT what you are thinking ha ha) and the stress I'm dealing with rather than the lack of food. Looking forward to ground beef tomorrow - Bobbie, what have you been eating today? I was thinking of having chilli, what do you think? Piddles (AKA Andi ), how are you doing on day 3? Only a few days to go girls, we are on the downward slope - almost there, we can do it. I'm down 4 pounds ( and counting hopefully)

I haven't seen my surgeon since the surgery - not only is he in a different country, but it wasn't included in the cost. It would have been better to have him available in case I needed him (which I did in the early days, but there you go), but I agree, this far out - lots of money when you can get just as good service from your regular doctor, and save the surgeon for any specialist care you may need.

On day 3, I didn't feel like eating breakfast so it was another shake. I had tuna for lunch and dinner (I'm not too creative and my pouch really doesn't like eggs for some reason ) with shakes inbetween. It wasn't very exciting, but it was food I hope you're feeling better today!

oh, I totally am going to get my check up, but with a 'regular' doctor instead of a gastric surgeon. his duty is done and I am totally fine. no point in going back to him. it is $20 to see a normal doctor for my labs and general health which is totally reasonable. just not a surgeon anymore. ;)

While I lived in Dallas, I frequently couldn't go to the doctors for minor things as we couldn't afford the co-pay. I used to 'save' everything up and deal with it all in one go. I think it is disgraceful in a first world country. That said, the US does have extremly good health care and I do miss it. Next time, I would just budget more carefully and make it a priority. You can't mess around with your health, but sometimes I think they do overcharge if they can and are unscruprelous (sp?)
