Thanks Karen sorry to hear about your father in law. I hope the surgery goes well for him - it sounds like he's having a rough time at the moment. Good for you for filing for the Grandbabies - it may take time but it will be worth it in the end - you will change their lives. Did you look into getting funding at all? Maybe your lawyer could help on that front?

I go up and down about 7 pounds too. I have not seen any rhyme or reason to it, it just is...

Do you think he might be sexually attracted to you now? That might make him uncomfortable and not be able to be open with you about it?

Ok.. so I have been at the same job for 25 years and at this job area of work for over 3 years. My boss is a very nice older man but has a rep of being a ladies man. Now he has never approached me in any way so that is not my issue. All of sudden about 6 months ago he started acting weird, almost like he wont look or talk to me. I have spoken to him numerous times and asked if we are ok and he always says yes. Now I have a very lack job that as long as I show up each day, get my job done, he doesnt care what we do. All of a sudden, everything i do is under a micorscope, things that he has never had a problem with is now a problem. So he called me in the other day and told me.. he doesnt feel comfortable around me anymore.. that he cant trust me. I havent done anything to him or anyone for that matter. I stay in my office, travel to my appointments, do my work and leave. I rarely speak to anyone which is kind of the way our jobs work. It's actually pretty lonely around the office as we are all always traveling and coming and going. So what have I done to make him all of a sudden uncomfortable with me. he wont look at me, he barely talks to me and when he does he seems to struggle with the conversation. Is it because I have lost weight and I am not the person he has known for the past 25 years. I am not sure what to think. Has anyone experienced a change in their people at work because of their wls and changes in the way they look. I dont think my personality has changed any or that I am doing anything different than what I have been doing. What do you think... I told him we need to go to lunch and talk and work through his feelings. I really care about him and dont want this uncomfortablness to continue.

Hi Ruth! Congrats on the raise!!! My hubbys Dad was admitted to the hospital this morning so we spent the day there...He will be having surgery either on Friday or Thursday..He has bad kidneys, heart, and he just had a knee replacement. He was having trouble with circulation in his legs and had blockage in his veins. He will be 90 in January, just hope he makes it through this ok. If he doesn't have this surgery he will lose his leg,his foot is already dead and gain green had set into his big toe... Then we filed for custody of the grandkids today, they said it could take 6 to 8 weeks... My weight ....I'm like you anymore....I try to stay away from them, somedays I feel just plain FAT!! But as long as I keep staying under 190 still I guess I am happy!! HAve a great week!!

Ruth, Can you believe that I have forgotten to ask that question? I forgot right after surgery and then at the one week follow up I forgot again!!! That is the most important question and I keep forgetting to ask. I have an appointment Thursday and I will surely ask then and let you know. I am 5ft 4in tall and weighed 170 the night before surgery. I don't think I was at a normal bmi then, I'm not sure that I am a normal bmi even after the surgery. I haven't applied for the century card yet, I'm really not sure how to do that! Thanks for all your encouragement. Amy

Jean, Your having the LBL, right? You should lose a little more than me. I only had the TT. Some of that weight might be fluid loss too, although I didn't weigh myself right after surgery and could have be a few pounds over the 170 that I got the day before surgery. Believe it or not I have forgotten to ask how much he took off. I have a follow up on Thursday and will ask then. I am very happy to be in the 150's now, that is where I was in High School. Amy

Good Monday to you all. And what do you have planned for this week? I finally got the promotion I was offerred at the higher rate of pay I asked for - woohoo! That will be starting soon so I am making the most of my 1 hour in the afternoons before my daughter comes home from school to get everything done that needs to be done before I start working full time. I am also trying really hard to be positive about myself and my eating. Each meal is a new meal that I can make the right choices about, each day a new day. I'm going to hang in there and keep plugging away. Have a great week everybody

Good grief - you make me tired just reading about your weekend! Did you have time to breath? Just leave the hubbie to find a home for the third kitten and see how long it takes him. The longer he leaves it the harder it will be anyway and by default the kitten stays and you win by default! So when are we going to see the new hair cut? Mine is orange/red right now. When we can afford it I'm going blond again. Sill trying to grow it, but boy is it thin. At least I'm not losing it anymore, just wi**** would thicken up a bit.

So how come I'm the odd one out? No obvious answers and wise cracks needed hee hee. I guess I should be used to it - I usually stick out from the crowd and like it that way most of the time
