Ruth you read my mind...darn it! Ok I won't...well maybe just one glass of wine, ok? I've had a good week...feel really good, very strong and upbeat. Did mostly the right things this week. Can you hear me making excuses to celebrate????
I don't have any plans with weekend but things tend just to happen to me so we will see how it develops.

I know what you are talking about... I work out, run.. tone..and it just doesn't touch that loose skin. how do the folks on The Biggest Loser lose hundreds and have no hanging skin??

OH god Carla, how sad for your friend. My surgeon said that as long as i am "afraid" that I will gain my weight back..I am 50% more likely to not gain it back. He said people who get ****y and start thinking.. I can just eat whatever I want and I'll always be skinny now..those are the one's who tend to gain the weight back. Also folks who were not warned that they need to deal with the reason they over eat before surgery.. are less likely to be successful afterwards. I was an emotional eater, now I have to find other ways to deal with that.. I"m starting to go running when I have the blues or mean reds well up. That helps..and I fell so much better afterwards..much better than I woudl feel if I stuffed my face with junk. I won't lie..sometimes I fall off the wagon, but this wonderful pouch doesn't allow me to do too much damage..however.. the caveat is that I also know that will not always be the case.. and I need to be careful and not fall off the horse too often, or I will be to heavy to get back on that steed.

This week - 141.4 seems to be the norm. I started running a few mornings a week and cut back on the carbs again, stopped eating full portions.. so the weight is comign back off...and amazingly, I think the skin is tightening up a bit... I leave for Hawaii in 8 days... so very excited for that.

Topic: RE: wow! I did not even know this board was here!
Hello Again Deanna, this board is a little of a challenge to get to, its like its hidden away.
I'm happy to have found it though. It is nice to know that there are people out there who are literally going through exactly what i am.. makes me feel like less of a weirdo

I also know a woman who has gain a bit of her weight back and had a tummy tuck. She looks un-natural.... yes.. it is weird. the lower area of her stomach is snug and that at the surgical site it just pops out.. it looks nasty. It's like the bottom half didnt stretch out like before but stayed tight while the top half started accomidating the weight.. I never want to look like she does.

Oh gosh, this is my greatest fear! I soooooo don't want this to happen to me!
I look at it this way ... this surgery gave me the chance to start over. I know where I once was and I do NOT want to go back to that spot in my life. I know what I need to do to stay where I'm at now. It's a matter of making the correct choices to keep me here.
Thank you for the reminder!!! I need that to help keep me in line!

And the moral of the story is ~ to use this journey to heal not only the size of yrou body, but to heal wholesticly, body, mind and spirit. The man sounds like he has not addressed several issues of why he became obese in the first place. It is a very sad story.
I got asked by a friend, what will happen to the skin if all the weight (and more) gets put back on, particularly if someone has had a tummy tuck, etc.? She actually wondered if the skin 'pops' ? Any ideas?
