1. why are the kids at a hotel? 2. can you get a court appointed lawyer/guaradian for them? 3. I bought myself the bigger water bottles because like you, I rely on my water bottles during the day to help me get my fluids in 4. Be careful of the bagel, it's high carb low protein food and you don't want that to lead to weight gain - on the other hand if it keeps you full and other foods don't you need to incorporate that into your day..whatever gets you through the day. Be Well and know that you are in my prayers and my thoughts. ANDI

I am SO proud of you for going to that PTA meeting, it's hard to put yourself out there when you are not comfortable doing that, but y ou're not doing it for the other moms you're doing it for the kids and that makes a HUGE difference. I had to pull away from the p.t.a. because I was becomming too involved and I just dont' have the time to devote to it. Keep up the good work and each day we'll see how we're doing. I think it will help us to not feel so alone as we are further out and it's easier and easier to eat or make unhealthy choices. ANDI

Hi there Andi! Wow, try saying that subject line 3 times fast! Whew! Today my muscles are really sore from my new workout routine. But it's back to the weight lifting class this morning and then back again this evening to run 3 miles. I'm sticking to the plan my fitness coach gave me and I'll see how that does ... the first week is the hardest but it almost feels good to have my muscles so sore! I know I'm working them hard! My eating is going well ... and my water intake is getting better. I'm trying to increase my water but I feel like I have to pee every two seconds! This week I've been more ambitious with everything ... I'm tired of waiting for my husband to help me with projects around the house so I've been putting tile in our kitchen ALL BY MYSELF! It feels great to be so self sufficient! I also went to a Parents Association meeting at my daughters school ... before I was always too self conscious to be active in clubs like this. It's nice to feel my self esteem building so that I can do these sort of things! Deanna

Hi everyone Well for the last 2 days I have been finding out that if I eat a bagel and sf strawberry cream cheese for breakfast, that I am good to go until lunch!!! Not even hungary,of course if I think about it,I would be,trying to keep my mind clear of food and snacks! Chewing allot of gum!!! Darn head hunger!! Then I am starting to fix supper as soon as I get home, too. That helps me from snacking as soon as I hit the door! Then I try to keep myself busy until betime...I have been snacking on grapes and prok rinds at night... I have really been trying hard to get tha****er in! Itake 3 bottles to work with me,thats only 49 oz. but I try to get more in at home, plus my coffee at work. I haven't seen the kids since Sunday,I think they are still at the hotel. I am waiting on a call from the lawyer, hope it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg to get the kids, but it will be worth it,than to see them live the way they are now! Just been praying allot, hope it helps!

Ruthy I'm so proud of you for standing up for yourself, you know that you did it in a very nice way and you got your point across to your superior, way to go. I don't think one pasta meal is what made us fat, i think it was the night after night of pasta meals with candy bars and soda thrown in there and countless bags of chips! Pasta doesn't make me feel well so I had to give it up but gosh do i miss it, pasta, butter and some parmesan cheese or sea salt was my main comfort food for as far back as I can remember! Now i have spray butter and parmesan cheese on my spaghetti squash and it is really lovely, I don't kid msyelf that it tastes like real spaghetti but the actual taste of the food makes me think pasta and I broil it until the cheese is bubbly and a bit crunchy YUM! I'll probably need to for tonights dinner now that I've given myself the idea. Do you have a pedometer that you could wear throughout the day? I find it really makes me conscious of how far I walk each day and I might park further away so I can reach my goals and stuff. Keep on keeping on doll and that scale will move in a downward spiral which is what i want! Hugs, ANDI

Hey Andi I LOVE the title of this post My days have been fairly good. I've been noticing the changes in how I deal with stress - a good thing, and am building on it slowly. I have noticed that when I eat less during the day at work I eat more in the mid evening after my daughter gets hoem from school. So I've been plannign my lunches and making myself eat snacks even if I'm not hungry at work and this seems to be helping. I did succum (sp?) to pasta last night. I burnt the fish!! Before wls my main food and favourite dish was pasta with sauce - not any more - well the favourite part is btu I don't usually eat it. Last night I dcided to give myself a little of what I fancied and I'd be back on track today. Well would you believe it, the scales went down this morning - even after all those carbs! I've given up trying to understand my body and take what it gives me and keep tryign to do the right thing by it. That way, I figure I'll get closer to where I want to be eventually Good for you for putting your foot down with a firm hand..., and all that walking - just from yoru daily routine and nto an 'exercise' program. Who#d have thought it could mount up like that. I may just wear a pedometre and see how much I actually walk around the school. Mindyou, some days/weeks, like this one I'm so busy I dont' set foot away from my desk

Last night and this morning i've had a few revelations and I'm going to share them with you as I hope you share yours with me: 1. i forgot my food at home yesterday but i still managed to stick with the plan and do pretty well on the whole, more carbs then i'd like but less then i'd usually have so i guess that counts as a plus 2. I got some upsetting news last night and instead of turning to food for comfort (as per my norm and my hubby wasn't home) i turned to meditation and prayer and was able to find some peace 3. I'm down almost 2.4 pounds as of this morning so YAY for back to basics. I have also come to realize that I poop regularly when I drink enough (for me that's over 70 ounces, 64 doesn't cut it), go figure that it was that simple after I've invested in every pill, powder, tea etc known to man! 4. My mood swings have abated now that I've got the carbs under control 5. I'm stronger then I thought i ever was. My mother in law is terribly ill and going to visit her every Sunday is not healthy for my middle son, he suffers from night terrors. I put my foot down that every week was a little much and that we would do every other week and on our off weeks my sister in law could bring her kids down. This way the kids aren't competing for grandma which tires her out quickly AND my child is not too terribly frightened. If she is having a "bad" day then we won't go we'll call her and we'll arrange to see her on another day. 6. I have my breakfast, lunch and snacks sitting on my desk, my plan is all mapped out and I'm ready to do what's right for me. I WILL be back down to the 141 mark before my period next week so when it goes up again i know it's pms bloat and not true Andi stop eating nonsense bloat! By the time we get to the 18 months out mark i'll be in the 130's solidly and I'll be halfway through charting my rashes for plastic surgery which i'll be looking into for winter or Summer i'm not sure i'm debating the merits of each! Keep in touch, tell me how you're doing. What can I do to help you stay on track today? I need to exercise more but i've been averaging about 1.75 miles walking at work per day, not a bad gig but i want it up to the 2 mile marker by the end of the week. Hugs, ANDI

I have been doing well, I'm noticing many improvements in myself and I like how that feels and how much control I have. I DO have to work on my protein intake. I am having a really large lunch later in the day and I find that I'm too full to eat much dinner. Last night i grilled a marinated steak and was able to eat maybe an ounce to two ounces at most and I was counting on more then that to get my protein numbers in. Then my daughters best friends mom needs me to watch the little man after school today because they found another mass in the stomach of the husband and they have to go to the doctor to discuss how to proceed. I couldn't eat or drink after that I just had to meditate and discuss it with G*D. Andi

So, how did the rest of your day go? Did you guys stay true to your "back to basics" plan? I did pretty well...stayed around 1200 calories, drank my water (which I hardly ever do) and worked out with a trainer...it was a challenge though when on the way home from the gym my mother called and needed to "talk" at a restaurant of course...but I ate all protein...cup of chili and beef brisket.
