Hi Cyndi,
I have been having that problem too. I ask Dr Nighbert and he gave me a prescription med that is not habit forming, its a powder that you mix with crystal light or what ever you drink, it dosent taste bad either, works wonderful.

I am glad your feeling better Nancy, I know having a bad cold is horrible. Now I am afraid to take many meds so that makes it worse. I call the drug store I use before I take any thing. It amazes me that reg Dr's arent aware of what a weight loss patient can and cannot take. My pharm was about as bad but I have called him so many times he has got so much better at answering my questions. He attends the same church as I do, so I feel that it is ok to ask him about all meds before I take them.
I think doctors and pharmacist should take an extra course or class on weight loss patients.

Topic: RE: Embarrassing question
Hi Cyndi,
I never had a problem before surgery either,I had been having bowel issues, constipation to be exact, because of the straining,I came down with hemroids about 2 months ago and they are NASTY!
I used Preparation H cream and they were gone in 3 days.I spoke to my Dr. about it and he advised me to take a stool softner and to up the fiber in my diet,(easier said than done) and to make sure I was getting my water in (which I get more than recomended so that was not the problem)
I take 2 every evening before bed and never had isses with the Hemroids or constipation since,it took a good week for the softners to become effective.I buy them at Walmart in the generic brand they are very inexpensive.
I asked the Dr. at the clinic if this was Normal and he said many people have this issue after GBS.
Not to be gross but since we are on the subject I may as well ask...............
has anyones bowels changed? I mean HUGE BM's! I don't eat that much yet it is like a huge TORPEDO! Ok I know "TMI"...............lol
am I the only one?
Cyndi talk to your Dr.first before trying them and ask if you can use the stool softners.
They help big time!

OK, this is embarrasing but I have to ask. Has anyone experienced any problems with hemroids? I am having lots of difficulties with this and wonder if it is "normal" for us. I think it is because I am on my feet more and more active: lifting, working, etc.
In addition, perhaps our fiber limited diet... I just don't know. Just know I've never had them prior to this and now I am having "lots of trouble"...they are an awful malady to have. Oh well...
Hope you are all doing well. I appreciate having y'all to talk with. Cyndi
