I could have waited for dinner but let too much time pass. Will work on that today. Exercise: Twice today and exhausted. 45 min lap swimming in A.M., 40 min lap swimming P.M. Supplements: Excellent Water: Excellent Alcohol: Had glass of wine with D. Have a great day everyone!

Ben, I love SouthBeach Diet! I was able to lose my pre-surgery weight using that diet. I didn't do all the recepies, I just wrote down the allowed foods and when I shopped, thats all I bought. I lost 26 pounds on those foods. I love it because you can have 2 snacks aday and you never really feel hungry. I almost thought at first that it was way too much food, but the weight came off. It's a great diet and it really does work.

Thanks Ben, you're right. People really shouldn't be saying things that are so hurtful. I think that after walking a certian way for so many years, it must just take some time to re-adjust to this new weight. I find myself bending forward when I walk and having to remind myself to stand up striaght. It's so weird, I guess the part that bothers me the most is that I see it too and really don't know how to "fix" it! One of the ladies I work with has the most graceful and beautiful walk, she's a ballerina and has taken lessons all of her life. I guess I just have to be more aware of how I'm walking and keep reminding my self to stand up tall! Another thing I find is how strange it feels to fit into a smaller space. I used to have to walk sideways between the pews at church now I can just walk and theres plenty of room for my body! I'm not complaining by any means....but omg, it takes a while to get use to this new body we are getting!

I plan on doing a modified form of South Beach Diet, for life. I too have the same worries and am planning now for the enevitable. Luckily, I will never be able to eat the massive amounts of food I eat pre-surgery. Ben

At one of my surgeon's support group meetings, our featured speaker was a chiropractor who helps wls patients who have lost a significant amount of weight. What supposedly happens is that our bodies have trouble readjusting itself to the new weight. Many of us end up with back problems or other muscle-skelatal problems. I have found that I still lean back when I walk eventhough I have already lost a significant amount of weight and there is very little need for me to lean back. I may go to the chiropactor once I get closer to goal or if I start developing problems with my posture. We'll see. As for what people say, so what. If they are that crass and rude, they are not worth your response and should be quickly dismissed and ignored. Ben

I've had some of the same thoughts. I feel as though I too sometimes are to relaxed when it comes to eating the wrong kinds of foods. It seems like the things that aren't the best, like crackers, are the easiest to go down. The thing that seems to help me the most....I plan my meals and snacks and stick to the plan. Drinking all my water and not drinking with my meals is the thing that really keeps me on target. And then theres Fitday.com. It's awesome to keep track of everything. I never can remember what I eat, so I write it down and then total it up in the evening. Don't be scared though hon, just remember you have the strongest tool on the market!!!

Thank you Brenda. Yea, my knees are pretty bad too. Sometimes it takes a minute to really get going if you know what I mean. I know there's no more "thigh" rubbing and I can walk normal, or so I thought! Guess I'll figure it out someday, who knows?

Welcome... You had surgery 2 days prior to myself. I've lost 93 lbs since surgery, 98 since the first day I saw the surgeon in April, and 103-106 since my heaviest weight last year, Christmas. Its a neat feeling. Cheers to you my new friend.

Hey Jeanna, Welcome back, I am even making it on Wednesday...wow!!!! 1. I love music...but country is my first choice. Sometimes, I love to get down to the 60's - 70's. 2. I would love to have met Jesus...I think. I hope I would recognize Him for who He was. Today, probably Oprah - I think she is an awesome woman. 3. 28/30 very tight; 3 to 4X. Now I am getting into a 16 (Old Navy). 4. I decorate my classroom after Thanksgiving...but my home, well, sometimes I don't get to it til the week before Christmas. I used to do it on Thanksgiving weekend... boy, I've fallen down. 5. In my dreams, a new home, one of my own but that won't happen. Or maybe a vacation...boy I need one bad. Neither are going to happen, so probably nothing but my family together...maybe a swimming party at a hotel. That probably won't happen either. Oh well, Jeanne, this one made me kind of blue...its going to be a hard Christmas. But at least I'm healthier and skinnier.
