I am doing well. I weight 190. I only plan on losing 20 more pounds. Yep, you heard that right! I will be perfectly content @ 170. My surgeon as well as my PS said that would be an ideal weight for me. No, I am not 6 feet tall! I am 5 foot 6.5 inches! Let me tell you about my Plastic Surgery consult! It is so unbelievable to me, that I will be able to look straight down and see everything one day! I saw Dr. DiNick and he is as awesome as everyone says. He answered ALL of my questions. I will end up having to have a: Vertical Scar Abdominoplasty; or Fleur-de-lis. I am a typical apple and most of my fat/skin is in my upper/lower abdomen. I had lap RNY, but I still will end up being cut vertically. Do you know what? I do not care about that scar, as long as I end up with a flat tummy! I know that they recommend that you have 3 consults, but it is unnerving standing under the fluorescent lights in your all together with pictures being taken! The doctor was very kind. I also had my hubby there for support! Also, I want BA/BL. He recommended Saline, under the muscle, crease cut. His reasoning makes perfect sense. My left breast is a lot larger than my right breast. With Silicone you have to pre-order a specific size. With the saline you can overfill them if need be. He says that I should be able to have both procedures done on the same day. IF my blood level are good and everything else goes according to schedule. Robin

I'm happy with where I am but still have in my mind another 20lbs to go to be satisfied. Are we ever satisfied? But my happiness at finally being in a normal BMI range (ok...upper normal for my height is 24.9, I'm 24.8 but I'll take it lol) is kinda flattened by the results of the weight loss. I have lines on my face that weren't there last June, I can wear some nice clothes now...but the summer fashions are sleeveless...boobs? what are they? I am thankful I no longer have to take diabetic or hypertension medication (yup searching for positives here). So I will be off to my dr at the end of the week and start exploring plastic surgery. That is really the only big downside to this. I went for a walk with my grandson the other day and someone I used to work with and her daughter were walking towards me. I said hello no response.. HELLOOOOO... so funny...turns out they didn't recognise me. I haven't seen them for about a year. I eat what I did previous to surgery just a lot loss. Steak is a thing of the past tho. I have to pulverise it so much the enjoyment of a steak is all gone and if I dont chew chew chew I pay for it. I rejoined my local gym after a break for two months and I'm glad about that - I actually enjoy exercise now

Happy Birthday! It is hard to find clothes period. I can wear all jeans size 14 and dress pants size 12. The tops are another issue! If it isn't a 'fat top', it isn't going to work. A fat top is tunic style and about 30 inches long. In regular sizes they do have tunic tops, but they are short! I need them long enough to cover my stuff... Robin

Nothing makes me dump either. I have started to be a little lactose intolerant again though. Weird because I was lactose intolerant right after surgery and then it went away. Michelle

Happy birthday! Thats cool, mine is Sunday the 18th! day after yours.. and we had surgery the same day! i will be 25. i know EXACTLY what you mean about the stores.. I finally found some jeans at american eagle i can wear that look good. size 12 stretch hipsters.. try them on youd be suprised how well they fit actually.. when i held them up i said "yeah right" but i tried them on and was shocked. i went to the walmart clearance in juniors section last night and got a couple of shirts and sweaters .. i got junior size 15/17 and the sweater fits good.. the other shirts might be too big i havent tried them on yet. u might wanna try that out. Its weird going into lane bryant with my mom now and me feeling "out of place" and going into american eagle, and DEFINATELY Feeling like i shouldnt be in there with "those" girls who can wear their clothes! weird. hope you have a great bday! jen

Tomorrow is my birthday (woo hoo!) and yesterday I decided I was heading to the mall to buy a new outfit for the big day. Pre-op a trip to the mall meant parking at the door closest to Lane Bryant... heading there, shopping and heading back out (unless shoes or accessories were needed). Well, the only thing I can purchase at Lane Bryant now is jeans (sz 14) which I was super happy about at first. After going to a few stores I found that I no longer know how to shop for my post WLS body. I am too small for Lane Bryant and too big still for most of the "normal" stores. I went to forever 21 and was excited to find I fit in their large top... well only the cotton ones that would stretch. Everything else squished my "girls" like unbelieveable! Dont skinny girls have boobs? I mean SHEESH! It wasnt the best shopping trip... I was disappointed to see many stores size large (and not even carrying XLs!) looked like something a kid would wear... since size 12 is now the "average woman" where the heck are these people shopping?? I find myself still sticking to the same stores Ive always shopped at... just moved into the non-plus dept - Old Navy, Target, Dots. I am only 27 and want to dress my age.... its hard to shop in the trendy stores because everything is so small... and now with summer comming its all spaghetti straps, sleeveless etc... no way am I letting the chicken wings flap in the wind!! I did go to Lane Bryant the day before and bought new jeans... they had so much cute stuff in there! I wish there was a Lane Bryant for non-plus sizes!!! Good thing is I am more motivated now and ever to get to my goal weight so I can have an easier time shopping!!!
