I too have found Watermelon to be wonderful--one of the few things that actually make me feel good. But protein, protein, protein! That continues to be my challenge! I will try your Isopure/Jello suggestion. Thanks!

Topic: Recipe Ideas .... (2wks Post-Op)
I had surgery (RNY) on July 30th, I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to eat? I know that I can either be on liquids still, purees, and some soft foods. If anyone has any ideas, I would be happy to hear all suggestions! Thanks.

Topic: Hi surgery 7/08-ers!
I'm sorry to read that some of you have been having trouble eating. I just throw mini-chopped chicken/fish/steak that I cooked for my husband into veggie soups and it takes really good, at least to me. Taste is a huge factor so grinding up real food does seem to help. Emotionally, I'm really happy but I'm actually lonely for company now that I don't have my junk food as a 'friend.' So I've been making it a point to walk over & visit people I know in my neighborhood if only for 10-20mins at a time. I cheer up just seeing other people. ( I work from home.) I've started walking around the small park we live next to; it's a nice way to gage my progress as I can count the laps each time I venture out. My clothes are fitting better already. I still can't believe I did this. My surgery was on 7/29 in NYC with Dr Pomp although I live in Chicago.

Mmmmmm. A scrambled egg sounds fantastic. I'm actually craving refried beans for some reason with a little cheese on top. Yum! I get the most random cravings. My post op appointment is on Tuesday, I sure hope I get the green light to eat a bit more. Not really more, just something with consistency!!!!

Fantastic - glad things are going well for you and you are feeling good! My surgery date was 7/31, and food wise I'm doing great, just struggling with the emotional side of it a bit.

Hello Tasha- I had open rny on 7/28 and know what you are going through. I had trouble sleeping and had that "jumping out of my skin feeling." I was also grumpy. I had my first post op appt yesterday and he let me try a scrambled egg and mashed potatoes. So that us what we had for dinner and it was delicious! I only had a small amount and ate very slow to make sure it all went down okay. I never thought I would be so excited at eating an egg or mashed potatoes but it was amazing what it did to my mood! Have you tried tomatoe soup? That also helps. I just keep reminding myself that in a month I will have a whole bunch of choices and I can do ANYTHING for a month. Keep walking and congrats on the weight loss!

I am about to start my exercise program. I am going to start with walking first. I was informed by my professional that I could due stationary bike, treadmill and eclipes machine. Plus I did my first booboo. I ate some trail mix! shame on me.
