Wow Moment!!
I had a "WOW" moment last night. I was looking through my "1st Year Post-Op" scrapbook and realized that by my 10 month anniversary that I have lost 88.75"!! I can't imagine, I really can't, how I fit anywhere/anything or how much bigger I was to have lost THAT many inches.
For those of you that are struggling with the normal slowing down of the weight loss, go back and count up all those inches. Hopefully you've been tracking them at least monthly along with the weight. (I used to always say I didn't care how much the scale read as long as I could fit in a 10.

Dawn...
That's alot of inches. Fortunately, my sister & I measure, faithfully, every month. We measure pretty much every part of us that can lose inches. head, face, neck, upper chest, bust, below bust, waste, lower waste, hips, thighs, above knees, knees, calves, ankles, upper arms, above elbow, forearms & wrist.......(yup everywhere)....anyway as of our May measurements I've lost 179.25 inches....That's like 15 FEET
It really does pay to measure thats for sure. It always seems when the scale slows, the inches pick up. Plus I read something one time that said you're not actually on a plateau unless neither the scale or the inches decrease in at least 4 weeks. That hasn't happened as of yet for me, which is very cool
It's raining cats & dogs here.... Another year for a crappy Relay for Life Party in the Park. I see we are forcast for rain on June 10th as well (the day of Relay)... Say a prayer that that changes & Central NY gets a nice day.
Have a Great Weekend

Wow... you measure a lot of places!! Mine are neck, arm, breast, bra strap, waist, abdomen, hip, thigh & calf. I don't think I'd have come close to 15 feet even if I had measure all of yours too! Fantastic. Oh - I looked into the meetings here in California and I can't make the ones by me, but on Sept. 30th there's a Walk for Obesity that I may do. I gather it's USA wide on the same date. Maybe we can all walk in our respective areas and pretend we're all together?

Dawn,
That is awesome! I wish I would've taken some measurements, but I was so horrified by the idea of actually putting a number with my enormous weight I never did. But, judging my sizing charts, at a size 32, I probably had a 54" waist, and now I am about a 37" so that is pretty amazing. I am a foot and a half smaller around the waist!
And, the best thing of all, I can buy great designer clothes!
Congratulations on your great success!

Check with you doc. I know mine measured me at my pre-op appointment. I was just in for my 9 month check up and saw the picture they have of me at my first appointment. I have taken monthly pix beginning with surgery day but I lost 20 before surgery. At my one year appointment they will take another picture. I've gone from a 24 to an 8. I haven't gotten out my fat jeans to put them on yet. That should be fun. I got rid of everything except one pair of jeans.

Mary,
I know my doctor did not take measurements, but I am too horrified to know anyway! I have gone from a 32 to a 14, and I know I can easily now fit in one leg of my former pants. That is strange. I also got rid of everything except the pants I wore to the hospital on surgery day.
Congratulations to you and best wishes!
