Topic: RE: A WONDERFUL source of support!
It really IS a great magazine AND here's a tip on how to get it FREE! If you are a regular who attends an OH support group you will get one free each month. I am an OH leader and we get them to pass out to our members each meeting! The meetings are a great way to stay on track, get information and make friends! There is a listing here on the OH website that lists all of the support groups in each state.

Happy Surgiversary Edna! You are doing fantastic and before you know it you will be in ONEderland! I find it interesting that almost all of us who had surgery in August have lost right about the same amount of weight, no matter what weight we were to start with. I'm almost to goal and I've lost 93 pounds and from what I'm reading most everyone is right about the same.

Topic: RE: Hair Loss?
That's interesting Paige because my doc JUST told me to back off of the protien drinks and work on getting my protein in via food. I HAVE been doing that and I have been craving FISH too!!!
But yes... every doc is different and they are all probably right. And who knows if doing liquid protein really is the reason I have not lost hair. I also don't have any saggy skin.... perhaps it's just all hereditary or just that every person's body is different. I was just curious to see how common it is not to have hair loss since from what I had read it sounded like a given.
Question for you Paige... when your hair comes back, since you don't want it .... can I have it???

Topic: RE: I have lost Nicole Ritchie.
Oh I love my car but I'm DYING to fly on a plane. LOL.
JUST so I can see if any human being can actually fit in those seats!
I need to plan a TRIP!
Yes, Nicole has been hanging around for way too long! I'm glad to see her go.
Now if I can just drop a couple Olsen Twins.......................
(Glad you got it, I hope it doesn't offend anyone, especially since NR seems to be a healthy weight since she had the baby so good for her!)
Topic: RE: I have lost Nicole Ritchie.
Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard after I opened you post and read what you were talking about ...losing Nicole Ritchie... hehehehe LOL
that really tickled my funny bone! I mean I have an image of Nicole sticking out of your hand bag or something while your walking down the street. LOL
Congradulations for making it to 199!!! Isn't if wonderful.
I have been thinking of going to test drive a sports car just to see what it feels like to sit in the seat without the seatbelts rubbing my legs! I use to drive a Mita before I got really heavy, I remember when I traded it in I was up to 230lbs and it hurt to sit in the seat. I was happy to have a different car. I think I will test drive the new GE! What car would you test drive? I may buy one of those little smart cars next year to drive to work and save on gas. They are so little, one of our local dealerships are going to get them soon.
Bye

Kick up your boots!

Topic: RE: Hypoglycemic?? god this isnt good....
My doctor said at my 6 month check up that it's not like it's over, our bodies are STILL adjusting and will be for another year!
So even if you do have something going on that doesn't mean it's permanent.
You can't freak out over what a friend said, you have to ask your doctor about it.
It sounds way too soon to panic!
Topic: RE: Today is My 6 month Surgiversary
Congrats! Mine was Sunday.
Knee replacement, too? Wow, that's a lot to recover from in one year.
And even without that second surgery I'll bet you would have slowed down, seems like we all did so you probably picked a good time.
Topic: I have lost Nicole Ritchie.
85 pounds, that's what she weighed when they arrested her last year. Anyone remember that?
So I've been walking around with the equivalent of a Nicole Ritchie hanging on me.
No wonder I felt so bad!
Today I entered ONEDERLAND!!!!
199 this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wee.................I hope I never see Nicole Ritchie again.
And I bought REAL boots to celebrate. Boots that go all the way up to just below my knee.
Boots I could NEVER wear before because my calves were too big!
Topic: RE: Hair Loss?
I think for most of us it started coming out between 3 and 6 months. It seems to last about 100 days, just a little over 3 months.
I lost about half of mine and I'm probably the only person who doesn't want theirs to come back! I have way too much hair. This is the first time mine has been so managable. I can blow it dry in less than 4 hours. I can wear barretts without having to pull out the middle section.
I can straighten it!
Biotin does not prevent hair loss, it promotes hair growth. You didn't lose it because it sounds like you kept your protein very high and I notice the people who did lots of lquid protein didn't didn't lose hair.
I was only allowed one liquid meal a day. My doctor wanted me to learn how to get protein through solid food because that's the long term goal. I'm glad I did it that way because my tastes have changed drastically. I don't like sweets or carbs, I crave FISH! I crave the protein now and it's the goal of every meal.
But I lost hair so there was a price.
Every doctor seems to be a little different, but we all seem to lose around the same amount.
I guess they have their reasons.
Topic: Today is My 6 month Surgiversary
It's hard to belive its been 6 months!
Last week I had my check up and blood work done, my Iron is low, they want me to get Infusions to bring it up. But I not sure thats the way I want to go, I'm thinking I'll try some kind on suplement first...
Any way at the Doctors office my weight was 247, they weigh without shoes... Today at CURVES I was 249, this is the weight I go by since its the scale I use the most..... Just being under 250 is a wonderful filling, I am very happy to be able to exercise, its coming along slowly since my knee surgery in December, still alittle stiff but I'm hopfull...
So I have lost a total of 92lbs and 82 since surgery... and lost a total of 53.75 Inches.. I hurt my arm patting my back, GREAT JOB!! LOL.
Now my next goal is to be under 200...
Take Care All My August Losser family and friends..
