Oh how I wish I had these problems! I am still 140 lbs from my goal, and my goal is 175. I am super short, so at 175 I'd still be 50lbs overweight. Now if I get to 175 and am still losing, fantastic, I'll lower my goal, but right now it still looks very very daunting. My surgeon did not give me a goal - he was absolutely thrilled when I lost the first 100 though (35 before surgery) and very positive about my progress. I will be more than satisfied to see under 200, which I probably last saw around 4th or 5th grade. WTG Becca, and everyone else!

My doc and I agreed that 130 would be a good goal...but that still leaves me in the "overweight" category...remember I'm short. So, I set my 1st personal goal of 125, which will make me "normal". When I was thin I weighed between 105-110. I don't know that I really want to be that thin again. But maybe after I reach my first personal goal of 125, I will change the goal to 115. I guess it all depends on what I look like at 125. I don't want to look sickly or boney. But then again, I figure my body will stop losing when it's ready. I'm just pluggin along.

that's my feelings too!...although with my muscle mass being considered, my original goal wouldn't be overweight....but the literal BMI chart would put me there and I would go crazy just knowing that after all this hard work...lol...is that a bit neurotic? I'm so glad other people feel the same...I thought my doc was gonna punch me when I kept referring back to "BMI" as my main indicator of success...lol oh well... xxxbecca

I am 5'7" and was 315 when I started. My doctor gave me a goal of 180. I gave myself a goal of 157. Why 157? Because that gives me a "normal" BMI. At 180 I would still be considered over weight. I didn't go through this to still be over weight. LaVonn

My doctor didn't really set a goal with me. He did tell me if I lost 80 pounds that I would be a success. Well I am only 4 pounds from that. but I am going to go for the 100 pounds and have decided to lose an extra 10 if possible to give myself a cushion if I gain any back I will still be where I want to be. I know sometimes what we think it should be is not really what our bodies need.

I know how you feel. When I weighed in at Curves this month I only had lost 5 pounds last month. I felt like I had let myself down. I was so use to losing 10-15 pounds a month that I got spoiled. Now I am battling those hunger demons you are talking about. I catch myself snacking more than I should. I know it's because I am not getting in enough protein in the mornings. If I get in alot of protein at a meal I am not snacking in between. I have just pretty much decided that my body is in control and not me. So it will lose when it's ready to lose.LOL Until then I am working on getting in my exercise and upping my protein intake.

I was checking my charts last night to study my weight loss trend...when I calculated the rate I was continuing to lose I realized I was going to be at goal before my six month point...yay! (kinda) My doc and i have gone round and round with what my goal weight should be...because I am so tall and fairly muscular, she had given me a goal that had a higher BMI...she wanted me to disregard the chart and go with what she knew of my body mass. (I CAN'T IGNORE CHARTS, or anything to study for that matter...lol...I'm such a nerd like that) So as of yesterday, I was within 25 pounds of my goal and calculated that I really have a much bigger "cushion" than she is giving me credit for....so I added 25 more pounds to goal...lol...and I feel excited about it really!!! Like a new challenge just to prove her wrong...lol I have never wanted to be "thin"...but I think I can do this and look decent without that sickly icky look...lol Anyone else change the rules in the middle of the game and lower their goal weight.....just because? xxxbecca

Hi Heather Just want to say congratulations on the new job. Stress can keep you from losing, and we all know December is one of those months, and the swich of jobs. Just remember that your #ONE and you have to put yourelf FIRST, I know it's easyer said then done, but if you dont do it no one well.. It's all about loving ourselfs first, does this make sence?? I have to tell myself this time to time, and when I dont I have a friend to remind me. Falling in the slumps is not good, and to hard to climb out of but not imposable.. KEEP YOUR CHIN UP AND GET BACK ON TRACK... Venting is good..... and knowing your not alone...... is even better!!!!
