Pre-Op: 237 Surgery Day: 237 Current Weight: 169 Total Loss: 68 Surgery Date: 8/8/07 The whole month of December I never lost a single pound. I have been so frustrated!! I have also noticed it seems like I am always looking for something to snack on. It feels like I am so hungry all the time. Oh how I just need to get back on track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the month of January, so far I have lost a whole whoppin 2 pounds. I have just switched jobs and am a little stressed over that. With the job switch I have been unable to find the time to get my ass back to the gym. I know I have to make the time....and I know I am just making excuses....but with me drive time I have now (a little over an hour each way), I wanna just get home to get the house work done and to get to bed to only get up in the morning and start all over again. I just get so frustrated with myself sometimes. Sorry peoples....didn't mean to vent here.....but it did help.

You know there are as many different approaches to life after RYN as there are people having the surgery. For myself I do live off of 600 calories most days. I however have over 100 grams of protein most days. I do this while exercising twice most days and I don't experience hair loss. The key for me is that I am religious about my vitamins. I have them faithfully without fail! I also have plenty of protein for strength, saiety and nutrition. I also drink my water (not so good at that though). Lastly my calories are nearly fat free (my shakes are 1 gram of fat each) and my other protein is beans (which are less than a gram of fat per serving). I will have a small serving (1/4 cup) of salad (a mixed variety of these types: greens, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, avocados, etc) maybe every other day. I stay away from fruits, breads, junk and the like. I did have a long stall (it came at a time when I increased my serving sizes and was eating some foods that were not helping my body). Since I've gone back to a healthier eating my weight loss has increased. Honestly, other RYN'ers and our NUTs and our DRs can give us great advice, but be sure that how you're eating is 1 what's helping you lose weight and gain strength and 2 is a way in which you can (physically and emotionally) live with each day.... Stay Encouraged, Tiffany

Topic: RE: Do you have a weight loss pattern?
Okay, so I am a bit behind times considering that this post was made in December; However.... I too am irregular with my weight loss. In the beginning it came off so much in such a short period... Then BOOM! No loss for nearly months. Now it's coming off again. I figured it was due to many things, but mostly I think it was my body readjusting to food after such a shock from the surgery- me eating more food (still tons less than before surgery, but more than I'd been eating the first two months after surgery)- and the exercise pattern contributed too. Now that I've increased my exercise and decreased my calories (I average about 600-800 per day depending on if I have that extra shake or not at night) I am seeing about .5 pound per day. It is truly great to see this sight with others who've had surgery the same time period as I have. Stay encouraged, this is our year folks for sure... Weight loss, great fitness, and beauty (both internal and external)... Tiffany
