To get the % of body fat lost do you divide the amount lost by the amount you need to lose???

My hair is VERY fine and thin to begin with. I started losing my hair in Novemeber. It slows down for a few days and then picks back up. My hairdresser says she sees new growth but I dont. As a matter of fact I had a woman who is jealous of my weight loss post a blog online about me, One of the comments she made was "it won't matter how much weight she loses it won't put any more hair on top of her bald head." It really hurts because I am afraid she is right.
I have lost 74 pounds. I have went from a size 22/24 pants to 12/14. I am now able to wear L/XL tops from 26/28. I am pleased with my progress but because of this crazy woman I just don't like to talk about my weight loss. I thought it is something I should be able to be proud of but I guess its just something I will keep to myself and only share here.

Thanks for the info on protein drinks! I'll check them out. We have a GNC in Billings, Montana (about 97 miles away). I'll check there next time we're up that way. I really appreciate your help!
You're very welcome for the warm welcome. I absolutely LOVE this board. Everyone here is GREAT. I've learned so much from everyone and it's been soooo helpful!
Thanks again!

Topic: RE: WOW Moments...
**from blog**
I had a sort of "wow" moment last night...my husband came home with a surprise bag of new clothes for me! (he went shopping for me on his lunch break!!)...
**Now, this would have terrified me before, knowing that he would expect me to try it on for him to see**...
I've always carried my weight well, but my husband never really had any concept of how big I really was...so sizes just never worked out so well when he shopped...I would exchange them the next day for bigger sizes so he would never feel bad!
BUT THIS TIME, he once again eyeballed the things he liked, and I was even shocked that everything he picked fit...not tight, not stretched, it really fit!!
I am just thrilled because he didn't even cheat and check my closet...everything in it is big or baggy or requires a belt and a prayer to stay on correctly!!!
So for the first time, I was able to just put on the outfits he picked, and walk out into the room looking fabulous!!! I'm happy to say that my husband will now be doing much more shopping for me...thank god we have the same taste...I'm really looking forward to the next big wow!

My surgeon, nutritionist, and nurse educator have told me do NOT snack. Get in the habit of eating only three meals a day, and have at least two protein drinks a day. I asked why we couldn't snack and they said basically "because it encourages you to fall back into old eating habits of snacking, emotional eating, and seeking comfort foods, so it's best not to snack."
I have snacked some, but mostly when I wasn't able to get a protein drink in when I was supposed to. Usually that only happens if I'm away from home and forgot to take my protein drink with me.
When I have had snacks it's been mostly cheese, yogurt and sometimes a few nuts.
I have found that when I do snack I don't feel well afterwards. I guess my new body is telling me something lol.
On Christmas I didn't eat a full meal all day. I ate LOADS of protein, but not at a sit-down meal. I felt like crap the next day, so I won't do that again.
Some of your snacks sound yummy, though! If I ever do get to the point where I need a snack or want one, I'll try some of your suggestions for sure!

Brandi,
I know, it is horrible. Everytime I wash my hair I get gobs out. I cannot believe how unsupportive my family has been, its like...."Well, it will grow back", but for hair to grow back it takes almost a year to get to any length. Sheesh. Not like I want to throw a pity party either, just throw me a bone of sympathy here..lol

I think my biggest wow moment was when my husband walked into the bathroom when I was just getting out of the shower and said, "Ohhhh wow!! you're melting!! I can't BELIEVE how small you got overnight!" I felt soooooo good when he said that to me!
I also remember moving from plus sized clothing into misses sizes. I went to try on some pants (had slimmed out of all the ones I had) and thought I'd go with a size 18 misses. I pulled those jeans on and WOW they HUNG on me! I had to call my husband to the dressing room and ask him to go get a size 16 for me! When he brought it back to the dressing room he was grinning from ear to ear. I truly did NOT realize just how much weight I'd lost and how my body shape had changed!
I also love being able to tie my shoes without turning blue! LOL!
Topic: RE: I think I hit a plateau.
You're very welcome. I love to encourage people. I think whenever we get down or discouraged it's nice to know that there's someone else out there that knows the feeling and can give words of encouragement to help us press on. We're on a lifelong journey together and I intend to make it as pleasant and smoothe journey as possible, for everyone I can, myself included.
Keep up the great work!
