I guess I'll post here too since my post got ousted LOLOL! highest weight: 254 pre-op weight: 221 Surgery date: August 2, 2007 Yesterday's weight: 170 total loss: 84 lbs. I have gotten back on track with my eating habits since the holidays. I was eating a bit more between meals and not drinking as much fluids and I also had been bad about getting my protein drinks in. In the past few days I've really put myself back on the right track and in no time I lost back to where I was before the holidays. My hair loss is also slowing waaaaay down, thank goodness!! I'm losing less than half of what I was two weeks ago. Yippee!! I'm about 40-50 lbs from goal depending on how I look and feel. My ideal weight is 130, but I would like to shoot for 120-125 just to see how I look and feel when I get there. Have a blessed and successful week! God bless!! Brenda

I've lost a lot of hair and its finally slowing. I haven't changed many sizes either, and it took about 90 lbs lost before I changed sizes at all.. lame. I eat between 800 and 1000 most days but its crept up to 1100-1200 a few days recently. I am trying to keep it below 900 now, with 60-80g protein and under 60g carbs daily.

and I'm so nervous!! I know a lady who had her surgery just weeks before me and when she went in for her check-up at 4.5 months post op they were not happy with her 85 pound loss. (I was shocked...sounded good to me!!) I go to the same place. Now my appointment is coming up, I'll be nearly 5 months post-op and won't have 85 gone. I know I should just feel good about my loss, and my efforts, and to h*ll with their negativity...but it's hard. I'm going to feel low and awful while they're disappointed in my progress. Makes me not want to even go. I'm either going to cry or get pissed and then cry...depends on my mood. Ugh. I'm dreading this appointment, and ALOT.

I don't exercise nearly enough. I don't make the time for it and I need to. I have to make it a priority. January is a time to start new habits for me, so here I go!! I'll be going to my surgeon's office on the 17th. I'll be discussing alot with them at this appointment! WTG on your weight loss!!!

100 g of protein a day? HOW?!?!?!? HOW, How, HOW!?? I must know! I think I'm doing good to get around 30g! I've noticed my hair loss seems to have slowed down. (knock on wood) I had very thick hair but I'd say I've lost easily half my hair. Two weeks ago it was so horrible I nearly broke down, but now it's less. Thank God! Clothes are weird. I think my butt and thighs are in a ladies size 16 but my stomach still demands a women's size 20. Pants are vastly different than the last time I wore normal sizes. The styles ride a lot lower on the hip and the zippers are like an inch long. Anything that fits my hips, butt and thighs gives me a major muffin top. Anything that fits my waist makes me look like my bottom half is under a collapsed circus tent. I'm guessing a tummy tuck is not going to be optional and I'm sure my insurance won't pay for it. I have no idea about calories. I drink a protein shake for breakfast and just try to get as much protein as I can at the other two meals. I haven't touched sugar or fried food but I think I'm getting too much fat and when I start eating more I'll have to watch that more. My cholesterol has dropped 100 points. It was high when I was only 20 years old and barely over weight and now it's 154. I'm so excited about that. I just wish I weight that!

Hello...you're a week after me! Ive lost about the same (75#) and am at 900 to 1200 cals a day! I was suuuuper paranoid about my hair and started biotin about a month before my surgery and have been so so consistent with that and getting AT LEAST 100g a day of protein...I have not only had no hair loss....but actually have fuzzy new growth that I have to lock into my hair now...so its actually THICKER!!! I count my blessings for that...but my NUT warned us that although it may seem bad if we do lose hair, by the time we notice it, it's already beginning to grow back...so hopefully you won't have a whole lot more loss... try counting cals on fitday.com...its really easy and worth it when you need to account for every meal....good luck to you! xxxBecca
