Topic: RE: Will I actually go COMPLETELY Bald?!??!!?
Well... I am losing hair like crazy also!! I dread my showers as that's when I notice it the most. I had thin hair to start with and my surgeon warned me that I probably would have some bald spots and I may want to invest in a wig. He was brutally honest .. but I like that. He said it usually starts at 3 months. He was right on target. I went to see my dermatologist about this and he upped my Biotin to 4000 mg a day. Biotin helps with hair loss. My surgeon also has me on 100 mg of Zinc for the hair loss. I am surprised that alot of you didn't know about Biotin. I have not heard of taking the prenatal vitamins for that. I am very confident in my dermatolgists recommendation. I mean he deals with this stuff on a daily basis. However, it takes a couple of weeks for the Biotin to get into your system. What we don't need we urinate out so it is not toxic in large doses. I bought myself a wig and said the heck with it!! That way when and if it gets really bad I will have a backup plan!! I am waiting for my increased dose in Biotin to kick in. I will share more as the new dose starts to work. I guess we can be grateful that we don't have cancer and are losing hair because of chemo. I have tried to think of the positive things and not so much of losing my hair because I had surgery. Just a thought to ponder. We are lucky!! We are losing weight. Yay for us!!

Topic: Thanks for all the responses!!
I just wanted to let everyone *****sponded to my "Not Losing as much as everyone else" I appreciate your words of encouragement. Yall's overwhelming response got my spirits up and got me out of the slump I was in. I couldn't have done it without all of you. I now know how important it is not to compre myself to others and their weight loss. In case I didn't let yall know.. my thyroid levels were high and I had to have my medicine increased due to the absorption problem we have. We seem to think that played a big part in my long stall. As of today, the scales are moving again. I am 10 pounds from reaching ONDERLAND. I can't wait. I may not have lost as much as others who had surgery the same day as me or close to my date, but I will get there at my own pace. It has finally sunk in!! Thanks to you all I didn't give up.. I kept going. Thanks again for all the love and support. Merry Christmas everyone and God Bless each one of you. Please feel free to visit my profile anytime. I am gonna take some more pictures to add to my slideshow soon. Yes, the wig is coming in handy with the hair loss!! It's really kinda cute. Let me know what yall think!! Big Hugs~ Mary

Topic: RE: How is every one doing with clothes?
I don't really know what pant size I started out with because I didn't have any jeans, but right after surgery I could get into 32w and 5x shirts. I am wearing 4x shirts now (I don't have any 3x so I don't know if I can wear them or not) and in pants I am wearing 30 but they are falling off of me, and I can take them off without unbuttoning/unzipping them. So I may be in 28, but I don't have smaller clothes to try on I have lost 112lbs, and am 288lbs

Topic: RE: Hair Loss
This hair loss is driving me nuts. Bald spot up front and the other day I saw one in back. Not happy with this. But it is a small price to pay to get my health back, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. LOL

Topic: RE: Not losing as much as everyone else :-(
Please do not beat yourself over this, we are all here together, and every body is different, just start incorporating something new or different and the stall will shift and it will start melting again. I have all the faith in you......I had surgery on 8-20-07 and I weighed 343 at surgery, as of yesterday my 4 month surgery I weighed in at 263~! 80lbs gone, but 105 since 6-1-07, so I am pretty darn excited, but I eat right, portion control, and go to the gym 9 times a week! I run/walk 4 miles a day seven days a week and do resistant training/abs twice a wk. at nites...I know that this is my new addiction, but I am okay with it......just try and get a little more exercise in, you will see it melt off, but also know that every body is different and you are doing well, just keep going, it will come off!!!! keep your chin up and head on w/ your journey! You can do it!!! Happy Holidays!
