Topic: RE: Three months out tomorrow!!
Congrats on your weight loss so far. I had my Open RNY on August 21. I've lost 48 lbs and have been there for about 2 weeks. I walk 3x a week. I try to drink plenty of water. What else can I do to get back to losing weight? Any advice?

Topic: RE: 100 lbs lost!
Y'all are doing great also! I recently discovered that losing 100 lbs has also changed my personality. Well, reverted it back to where it once was. I really didn't think that mentally the weight was affecting me, but apparently it was. It may be that I am just healthier and have more energy, but it is amazing. I found myself singing at work twice last week! Other people have noticed it too. Very strange side effect that I was not expecting. Quite a ride we are on.

Topic: School Project- Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook
HI Evceryone! Thanks to all *****sponded to my last post. I probably should have written all of the information that I will need in that post but I wasn't thinking that far. To those who are unfamiliar with the first post, I am creating a weight losss surgery cookbook for a school project. I hads surgery about 3 months ago and my mom is going to have her surgery on the third of December, so I thought that this would be a fun project for bot of us. Here is the information that I will need from anyone who would like to participate =) Your answers and recipies can be sent to me directly if you don't want to post them. 1) Full Name and age 2) When did you have your surgery? 3) What were some of your favorite recipies during the liquid/soft food/ solid food stage? 4) What did these recipies mean to you? 5) How have these recipies contributed to your new, healthy lifestyle? 6) Were any of these recipies recreated from those that you had before surgery? If so, what did you change and why? 7) Where/ when did you learn these recipies? Again, thank you to all who participate =)

I had some bloodwork on tuesday for potassium levels for my OB related to new birth control pill. So i am a little concerned although I check my sugars at home and they are low. so I will go in Jan for bloodwork.

Topic: RE: 10 wks out What are you eating?
I can eat pretty much anything as long as it is moist and tender. I do try to have one Protein shake made with skim milk per day to keep my numbers up there because I can still only eat small portions. I like Matrix Cookies and Cream or Unjury Unflavoured mixed with 1/2 a banana and AF Chocolate Syrup or Davinci SF Caramel syrup. Have to make sure I go slow and chew, chew, chew though. I don't do any white carbs or sugar. For me the 64 oz have to be Clear, Calorie Free and non Carbonated to count. This is one area I really struggle with most days. Linda

Topic: RE: Iron Supplements
I also have to take iron twice a day. I also have to take Colace to help with the constipation caused by taking the iron I was told to make sure and take it on an empty stomach with about 2 ounces of orange juice to help with absorption. I will be doing my 3 month blood work next week so I hope it has improved. Linda

Topic: RE: Anyone having dumping problems
Okay, I haven't really dumped since surgery but I have had episodes of feeling very tired and some nausea. First thing I need to tell you is don't eat anything out of McD's. That is a HUGE NO NO. I had surgery 10 days after you and my nutritionist and doctor telll me it's way too early to have anything like that. If you are having this much dumping, maybe you should go back to hearty soups instead of complete solids. Also, if you get the foamies as some people do, have some lemon or lime popsicles in the freezer. The light acidity will help stabilize the stomach. Good Luck!

Topic: RE: hairloss
Hi Maribel, My name is Lucy and I am exactly 3 months out today Nov.15th. When I began this jouney I was told to expect hairloss and it freaked me out because I had some hairloss even before surgery... # months out and within the past two weeks I've had so much hair fall out that I have two small but noticeable balding spots right in the front of my head. I have as much protein in a day as I did in a week pre op. I take hair and nails supplements and fish oil everyday since month 2 and it's still falling out. So, all I can tell you is be patient, it will grow back and it can always be worse. That's the way I look at it.

Wow 100lbs!! Way to go. I am only down 91lbs. 30 I lost on the 4 weeks pre-op liquid diet I was on and 61 since. Tomorrow is my 3 month anniversary! I walk everyday, some days only a little and others I walk around town.
