Topic: RE: The stalling process:(
My dietician said that the most succeful people with this surgery learned to eat every two hours, just a little bit, and stay on that schedule to maintain their weight and weight loss. My suggestion with the odd hours is to take the little peanut butter take with from Jiff to eat every two hours and Atkins power bars. It is important to have high protein and low sugar. I had a friend mention a drink with 40 grams of protein at GNC, I am going to go look for it. I know that when I increase my protein, up my exercise and increase my water that I begin to lose again. It is a pain in the butt when you work werid hours. My only suggestion is to make your own routine so that you stay in control and that you don't allow yourself to fall back on snacking. It was reading on the Five Day pouch test about the junk calories from things like pretzels which go right back to fat for us after an RNY. Our bodies take those quick calaries and store them up quick when we eat them becaues it is easily processed and store in our bodies. I haven't eaten any kind of quick carb food since I read that post. Read the FiveDayPouchtest.com google it if you can't find the site, it is listed all over. Good luck with the odd hours and the weight loss. being down to 161lbs is pretty dam good. Give yourself a pat on the back for coming so far.

I posted earlier this month regarding the 2 pound on and 2 pounds off that I was also experiencing and seemed to feel that I had stalled. Thankfully, after a month of going nowhere, it seems to have finally corrected itself. This week I lost 4.5 pounds. I had to get on the scales twice before I would believe it. It is scary and frustrating but my nutritionist told me she thought it was because I had increased my exercise (on my doctor's recommendation) and was not getting enough protein and water to sustain the increased exercise. She bumped up my protein by adding a snack of high protein and told me to drink, drink, drink and keep up the exercising. Hang in there. I was pretty worried and seeing that others had the same problems really did make me realize that I was not alone in this process and how lucky we all are that there are others that have gone before us. I can't imaging how alone the first ones who went through all this felt but I am grateful that we can benefit from their experiences and sharing ours. Best wishes.

Hi Kris!
Welcome to the world of posting! I'm glad you came out of the posting hide-away to join us! I think at our stage in the journey we are slowing down tremendously with the weight loss. At least some of us seem to be. But don't panic! It's not over. I jump started my weight loss again by doing the 5 day pouch test. Here is the link...it worked for me! It makes us aware again of the tool we were given for our weight loss and how to use it. God bless!
Let me know how you do if you try this ok? Thanks to Tammy C (poster and fellow August surgery recipient) I tried this pouch test and it sure helped!
