Discount Card

I've heard some people saying that they have a card that gets them discounts on food in restaraunts because of the surgery, how do I get one.

Hi Heidi, There was once a link on this site that showed some, but I think it's gone now.... My surgeon and my support group gave them out. It just states: "due to the fact that I've had surgery to minimize my stomach, please allow me to order off of the children's or senior menu..." I've never used mine. Kid's menus are usually full of starchy and carb laden foods...I just order a regular meal and ask for a doggie bag and bring home the rest for several more meals! paula

Heidi, I received a card like Paula did from my surgeon, but like her, I don't order from the kids menu much. They usually have fried foods or pasta, both I try to stay away from. I have used it at the Japenese Steakhouse in town because the child's plate is a smaller portion and I don't eat the rice. Beware, though...there are some establishments that will refuse to recognize the cards and make you pay full price (Ryan's Steakhouse would not sell me a child's buffet plate, even though I can only go to the buffet once.) ~~em

I'm with the other ladies! I also got a card from my surgeon and haven't used it. Either the menu hasn't been a good, healthy choice, or it would still be cheaper to get a simple appetizer (shrimp ****tail!).

I got one from the Dr. I have used it at Sweet Tomato's. Most places My wife and I will split a meal (if you want to call eating 25% of the meal a split). If I am on my own I usually will order from the appietizer menu. Jerry

Thats what I do at most places. I order the appietizer. When I eat at fridays I order from the kids meal. They have a great rib meal. Have a great Day All you GREAT LOSERS Barb

I have found that if I don't get a the opportunity to either order ala carte, senior or child plate, then I just pick a different restaurant next time. There are way to many choices out there.
