Tha's so funny because I get on the scale about 5 times a day too!! It's not healthy but eventually it does move. (smile) You are a strong woman to be on liquids for a month, I could never do that!!
Topic: RE: Am I on track with everyone else????
I had my surgery on 9/13. I started liquids on 9/5 and lost 10 lbs before surgery. Since surgery lost 20 lbs...Total of 30. I am still on a liquid diet. My doctor recomended 30 days post surgery. I have my follow up on 10/13 which is the same day I can finally move to soft foods...I can't wait to have an egg!! I have been surviving on SF FF Pudding, SF FF Jello, Pureed soups, TCBY SF FF Yogurt, Crystal Light, Unjury Protein Shakes and SF Popsicles.....I am getting bored....but I keep reminding myself in the back of my head from WW days..."Nothing tastes as good as being thin will feel!" I have been taking my vitamins faithfully, the last 2 days, I haven't felt too good....( a little light-headed and very gassy, my back is also sore ****ep saying, by this time next year...I will be a new woman.
Also, I step on the scale every few hours, I know its crazy, but I can't wait to see it move. My friend suggested I only go on once a week, but the anticipation kills me. I think I have OCD with my scale

Topic: RE: Monthly cycle, anyone else late?
My last cycle was 9/9 and my surgery was the 12th so in a few more days I'll let you know............(smile) Today at 2:30 I have a consult about getting my tubes tied because once I get this great body I'm not ruining it again with another pregnancy!! My boyfriend is ready to strangle me because I'm being soooo careful that I'm basically abstaining. (smile) Hey, he'll live, right???? I think it's been twice in the past month with extreme precautions!! I'm considering what's called "essure" and the doctor does it right in her office, no cutting or anything they go "in" through "there" and put coils around the tubes, you have to be on some form of birth control for about 3 months before it actually takes but after that it's permanent sterilization. I guess your tubes have to grow around the coils and it takes 3 months. I'll find out more today. I have 3 kids so I have enough. Good luck on not being pregnant, keep us posted!!
Take care,
Rachel

Topic: RE: Pain
Hi Stacey,
If you had your surgery done laproscopic then the left side is where they went in with the camera. I had most of my pain on the left side too so that's normal. As far as breakfast..............they have sugar free maple and brown sugar oatmeal at Farmer Jack and that's considered a full liquid if you make it runny. Sugar free pudding is good too. I ate pretty much the same things while I was on full liquids and yes, it does get BORING and my stomach would just rumble and wrench because I was sooo hungry. Once you get to pureed foods in another week or so you fill up a lot more, just remember to take small bites, chew it until it's almost liquid and eat very slow otherwise it hurts soooo bad. I've done it twice already, being a pig and eating too fast which in turn makes you eat too much and it backed up in my esophagus and that is some pain, I'll tell ya!!
I take a sweet potato and bake it for an hour or so then I cut me off a little piece, ma**** spray my Smart Balance spray on it and sprinkle it with garlic powder, it's sooooo good. Refried beans with cheese is also good, you can have these in a week when you get to pureed foods. Tuna on crackers is good too, just chew the cracker until it's mushy. Good luck!!
Take care,
Rachel
Topic: Monthly cycle, anyone else late?
Well tomorrow I will be 4 weeks post op. My last period started 9/1 and my surgery was 9/7. My cycles have been general 30-32 days over the last year or so... but I'm past that now. Anyone else seeing this? I know I'm hormonal because my patients level is VERY low! I'm also feeling crampy, but nothing is happening... and we were EXTREMELY careful.
I'm hoping this is just body changes causing it to be late...
Renee

How come he's got you on liquids for almost a month? I would have gone CRAZY!! After the first 2 weeks I was so sick of jello, pudding, oatmeal, etc.... that I wanted to scream. YOU'RE the one doing great if you're still on liquids because that's hard to do....
Take care,
Rachel
Topic: Pain
Hey guys,
I am 7days post op. I feel pretty good except, I have alot of tenderness on the left. (just below the breast) Must manuever certain ways in order to prevent severe pain. It tender to the touch. I see Dr. Tiesenga for 1st follow up. Don't know if I've lost any weight. I think maybe inches. I'll take those to. I'm on a full liquid diet and find myself very hungry about every 2-3 hours. Sometimes my stomach is rumbling alot through the night and I can't sleep. I get up and eat a popcicle. I know some of this is gas. I started taking tums the other day. It was all in my chest and back. Had to have some relief. I am lactose intolerant and having difficulty with cream soup w/ water and yogurt. To much tomato soup causes heartburn for me. Any fresh ideas on foods would be appreciated. Hey any ideas for breakfast other than protein shakes can only tolerate it in small does. In the past I have been a big breakfast eater. Example: pastries, steak skillets, pancakes, omelettes etc. I like a hearty breakfast.

I had surgery on Sept. 15th and am down 16 pounds since the day of surgery and 23 pounds all together with pre-op diet. I'm still on liquids until I see my surgeon on the 11th and then I get to start having soft foods. You're doing great!!!
Hugs,
Jill

Congratulations!! I had mine 9/12 and I've lost 20 so far. I haven't been under 200 since 2003 when I got pregnant with my daughter so I'm looking forward to 199 very shortly!! I completely understand how that must feel because even though our numbers are different the goal is still the same.............to hit the next lower level of numbers on that scale!! Keep up the good work!!
Take care,
Rachel
