Topic: RE: I,M ONE WEEK OUT TO DAY AND HAVE QUESTIONS
I had mine on Sept 12th and I'm soooo hungry!! I want pizza so bad but of course I haven't had any. I did go to Taco Bell and get pintos and cheese. (My surgeon says we can have that on the pureed stage as well as Wendy's chili but it has to be put in a food processor first.) How is your weightloss coming. I did real good the first week but these last two weeks, maybe a pound or two. It's so frustrating but I know it's normal cuz my body thinks I'm starving it so it won't lose weight for a few more weeks until it realizes this is how it's going to be. I started at 247 and now I'm 230. I guess I should be happy with that, and I am, i just want more!!!!
Topic: RE: Approved for TT...
Hi,
Any suggestions on how to get insurance to cover a TT?? I have BCBS PPO. I actually just had my surgery on 9/12/06 but I'm already thinking ahead for next year's TT and breast lift. I know the breast lift won't be covered but you'd think the TT would be considered "reconstructive" and not cosmetic. Did u have to complain to your doctor of rashes, boils, yeast, or anything gross like that in order to be covered????? I'll do whatever it takes to get that covered because I KNOW I'm going to need it. Any suggestions will help.
Thanks,
Rachel
Topic: RE: Bummed about Family reaction!
Hi,
Just wanted to see how you're doing since your surgery!! I hope all went well. I just had mine on Sept 12th. I had lap RNY and after 1 week I was down 17 pounds and moving around like I hadn't had surgery. My mom was the one that would tell me my kids are going to be orphans, everyone she's known of that's had the surgery has had complications/death, etc.....she had my kids all scared and everything. Now she see's she was wrong about the surgery and is supportive of me losing the weight. I hope your father came around and sees that you made the best possible decision for yourself. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
Take Care,
Rachel
Topic: RE: no loss yet
Hi,
I had RNY on the 12th of Sept and I lost 15 pounds the first week and a half but now these past two weeks, NOTHING!! I was so discouraged until I posted on my local forum and realized this is normal because your body is #1. Full of gas and fluid from the surgery and #2. Your body thinks it's being starved so it's not going to lose weight until the 7th or 8th week. That's what I was told and it makes sense, once your body realizes that this is the way it's going to be fed from now on, it'll adjust and you'll lose 20 or so pounds in a month but it won't be right away. I know how you feel, I am so impatient when it comes to losing weight!!
Good Luck,
Rachel
Topic: RE: had surgery and now going on two days w/ no bowel movements
Hi,
I had mine on Sept 12th and didn't have a BM for the first 5 days or so then I had one every few days. Now it's daily since I'm on pureed foods, sometimes twice a day. Your body should adjust.
Good Luck,
Rachel

Sounds like you are doing great!! I had mine on 21st also, had bowel movents and then stopped for almost 2 days and restarted. What are you taking in at this point? I am down 15 pounds, feels great doesn't it? Wishing you continued success!
