I thought I had the flu this week because I was throwing up so much and couldn't keep anything done. Yesterday I couldn't even ge****er down so I called the doctors. I had a scope done today and scar tissue was building up so I was closing. I was at a 9 so they opened me to a 13 and I go back in two weeks to do it again. The opening should be at 18. I was wondering why I could barely eat still at 3 monthes. If this happens to you call your doctor. I can tell the difference in eating today. Laura

Topic: RE: OK 9-06 how the heck are we doing????
Hi, I'm doing great, 10 weeks out and I believe next week I'll be in the 100's again!! I started at 250 and now I'm 204. I'm still wearing my very baggy size 18's because I have to make Christmas happen for the kids before I go buy myself anything. I'm sure I'm in 16's by now. (I just gave all my 14/16's away this past summer because I thought I'd never get approved!!) A friend of mine who had the surgery last fall told me to go to the salvation army in a high income neighborhood and buy clothes there for now because I'll be going through clothes so fast that it's senseless to keep buying new wardrobes. (she got a prada skirt for $10!!) She'd wear them a few months, sell them on ebay and use the income to buy more clothes. I'm still on protein shakes and bars, I have to be, otherwise I'd NEVER get the required amount of protein. I don't really care for eating because it's just not satisfying anymore. The pleasure is gone. (smile) Eating a few bites does nothing for me anymore and I can't stand eating so slow that your food is ice cold by the time you're done. Dont get me wrong, I do eat, but just not as much I'm probably supposed to be. Some days I feel like I'm screwing the surgery up and stretching my pouch because I feel like I'm eating like a pig and then other days I'll eat 3 bites of cottage cheese and feel so stuffed that I feel like I should make myself throw it up. STRANGE!! I also exercise 3-4 days a week with step aerobics and weight training for 45-60 minutes. It's hard getting the water in, I admit that. I usually get maybe (2) 20oz bottles in a day.........not nearly enough!! I go for my 3 month labs Dec 15th. Well, good luck everybody and keep up the good work!!

I am definitely feeling the same way. Although if I eat fried foods I do get a bit sick. But other than that I feel I can eat a lot more than I used too. Just be aware of it and talk to your doctor. Hang in there!

I have absolutly no issues with salad...........I had surgery on SEPT 18th. I've been eating it for weeks now. I eat a salad every day for lunch with some cottage cheese. Shredded Cheddar and some chunks of chicken... (GoTTA GET THE PROTEIN IN THERE!) Good Luck... Salads are so yummy now....

I get horribly sick on too many fats, but Im not sure about sugars yet. I'm sure if I pushed it, I would find out...but I don't want to at this point...I'm too afraid I WONT dump on sugar. I have doubts every day. I always feel like I eat too much, but then I look at my nutridiary.com and I am hovering around 700 to 800 calories per day during the week. The nutritionist told me I should be at 1000 per day (I am going to confirm this with another one of the NUTs at my 3 month). I guess maybe I feel like I am eating a lot because I am still eating 6 times a day to get all of my protein in. My biggest fear is that I will start grazing.

I am sitting here having a cup of hot tea myself. I know what you mean about your tastes changing. I am having trouble with milk. I was drinking protein shakes with milk at least once a day, now I am switching to nectar and mixing with water. My goal is 175. I started at 300 and am down to 240. 85 to go. I thought I would set my goal at a reasonable level and then once I got there I could change my goal. I have a difficult time getting my fluids in lately. I am more active and at work am running back and forth between meetings and it is difficult. But, like you I am able to drink more at a time. I do know that if I don't get my fluid in I get sick when I eat. So, I try and be very careful. Today I haven't gotten any extra exercise in. Tomorrow I am going to go the fitness center at work while I wait for my husband to pick me up. I am lucky that we have a fitness center at work. They only put it in a couple of years ago. Peg Miller

Hi, I had my surgery on 9/12 so I'm almost 3 months out. I dont get sick on fat, I dont get sick on sugar, I feel like I can eat a lot, (more than i could at first) I'm afraid I'm going to sabotage myself and will have done all this for nothing!! Anyone else feeling this way??

This was an issue, just last night for me. I have been doing fine with just lettuce, but last night, my mo chopped up everything the size of confetti, and I got really sick. There was bell pepper, celery and tomatoes and lettuce, that's it. Everything was sooooo finely chopped, but I was sick all night.... I better stick to lettuce only for a while. Sherr 278/214/150
