Have you ever made taco soup? It's delicious and sooo easy!
Taco Soup
2 lbs lean ground meat
1 onion
2 cans pinto beans
3 cans stewed tomatoes (i put them in the blender to puree them)
1 can corn
1 package ranch dressing mix (dry)
1 package taco seasoning mix
Brown meat and onion and then add all other ingredients and simmer for 30 min. Serve with low fat shredded cheddar.

I'm doing great - feeling so much better than I was prior to surgery. I no longer suffer from Irritable bowel syndrome and my asthma symptoms are as good as gone. I started working out at exactly 4 weeks from my surgery date (when the doctor approved exercise), and it has helped so much - I've lost 10 inches in the month I've been working out at Curves. I'm down 43lbs total. I really watch sugar and carbs, and that seems to help. I also got to buy clothing in the Misses' department for the first time in years - I was so happy that I cried and so did my friend who was shopping with me! I never thought I'd see Misses' sizes again.
The only odd thing that has happened Monday night was when I tried decaffeinated coffee. I was at a business dinner and everyone ordered dessert, so I thought I'd try decaf coffee to keep myself occupied while they were eating. I felt really strange after 2 small sips, so I guess I won't be drinking that again! I am so thankful for this surgery - it has already changed my life so much in so many positive ways.

I've been eating it for the last few weeks (I'm 7 weeks out). However, I kinda take a kernel, pop it in my mouth and chew and chew with lots of saliva...whatever is left that won't dissolve, I spit out into a napkin. Hubby thinks its gross and I won't be doing that in any theaters any time soon but I haven't had any problems with this and it sure does feel good to crunch something!

Doing well, seven weeks out and 46lbs down. I go for blood work in a couple more weeks but BP is down to 110/70 and I'm sleeping better and not waking up with back pain anymore. Hubby also said I'm not snoring when the CPAP falls off and I am definitely sleeping better.
The other day I was coming from a meeting and I went up a flight of steps, then I stopped, turned around and realized that a) I went up the steps and was able to continue my conversation in a normal voice without having to stop and breathe, and b) I was at the top of the steps and not red-faced and panting! WOOT!
I'm still doing protein supplements but I'm trying to hit as much of my protein target as possible with regular foods. I still get sic****asionally but it's usually from not paying attention to how fast I swallow. I go out to eat at least twice a week and haven't had problems ordering food...I've been able to tolerate all sorts of meat though I've stayed away from refined carbs and have had nothing with high amounts of sugar since surgery.
I'm about to run out of bottoms...everything I had was size 20-26 and I'm going to have to pick up some 18s tonite. Trust me I am NOT complaining
Anyone starting to lose hair? I don't think it's any worse than usual but I guess I'll know in a few more weeks...
Best wishes to all!

Hey I went to teh beach last week with my family and we went to a buffett, well i wanted a salad so bad that by the time i sat down to eat it my hands were shaking. my whole family laughed at me. my daughter had to go to the restroom after my first bite well while i took her the waitress toook my salad! I was so mad!!!!!!! Just remember that lettuce doesnt have much if any nutritional value so fill your salad with good stuff. sunflower seeds and nuts are agood protien add in.I put raisins on mine and it was good i had never tried them in a salad before. eat slow and watch out for gassy veggies. Try it with grilled chicken too, Jamie
