I'm with you!! I don't see it either, but everyone else does. I've lost 40 pounds and went from a size 20 to a very baggy 16. I can get into a 14 put they are very tight. Go shopping and buy a few things! I did that on Friday night! I had sooo much fun! I had tears in my eyes when I put on a size 16 and they fit!! Go and have fun girl!!
Topic: RE: How much are you eating?
Wow, I'm not eating nearly that much!!
B- 1/2 egg or some plain cheerios
protien drink
L- 2 table spoons of chicken and refried beans
protien drink
D- the same as lunch (leftovers)
I drink water or tea through out the day
I'm still suppost to be on pureed food until Thanksgiving, but that's so hard to keep doing!! And any type of bread is off limits to us!! It's funny to see what different doctors tell you to eat!
Topic: RE: OK 9-06 how the heck are we doing????
I didn't have any co-morbidities, but I'm down 40 pounds. Went from a size 20 to a baggy 16. I'll be in a size 14 soon! WOOHOO! My surgen is BIG on protien drinks. I'm not that fond of them and tend to forget. I'm doing better though. I tend to get the shakes if I didn't eat enough at breakfast or lunch. As far as how much I'm eating, still only around 4 table spoons. Is anyone eating more than that??
Topic: RE: Salad
Yep, I'm with the rest of them. I've had salad too! Even though I'm not "suppost" to eat it yet. I tend to leave the dressing on it for a few and let it soak into the lettuce so it's no as hard. The first salad I ate I thought I had died and gone to heaven!! It was soooo YUMMY! I don't eat it often, but it's good when I do!!
Topic: RE: Any Recipes
Are you looking for meal recipes or would a no sugar added pumpkin roll do? I am not much of a cook and never crack open a cook book, but I found the pumpkin roll recipe on line and it is great!!

Topic: RE: Salad
I started eating salads at 6 weeks out (I am 9 out now). I loved salads pre-op and I still love them now. Just be very careful about what you are putting in/on them. I love the taco salad from wendy's, but if you put all the ingredients in (including the chili and chips and dressing) it comes to 700 calories for the whole salad!!! I know we can't eat the whole thing now, but even half is 350 calories at one sitting and that is a huge portion of our total calories this early out. I found that just adding salsa as the salad dressing or using that new Spritzer salad dressing (1 calorie per spritz) works great. I found out the other Friday night that for me, caesar dressing is the devil in disguise (no sugar, but HIGH in fat...duh! I wasn't thinking again) I was so sick and in such horrible pain for 2 1/2 hours after eating that....it was so bad I called my surgeon and took him away from his family on a Friday night. Lesson learned!
Also, something I found out... by trial and error...was that I have to remember that the cheese they put in salads is FULL fat. I would think "cheese! Good source of protein!" but it never dawned on me that it wasn't the LOW FAT/NON FAT cheese I use at home.
Most fast food places have the nutritional values of their foods on line so you can check fats, sugars, proteins, etc. ahead of time. Best bet though, is to make your own at home for awhile so you can control what is in it.

I didnt have any co-morbidities before surgery. But I do feel a whole lot better and am down 43 pounds. Started at a size 22 and am now wearing a very comforable 16. Life is good.
Topic: RE: Protein supplements?
My favorite (I have tried MANY) is Light Muscle Milk, I got it at the Vitamin Shop. It doesnt have that weird protein smell or taste.
