Topic: RE: Am I eating too mcuh?
Anne,
I agree with the others that you are eating too much. I can sometimes eat a whole egg, most of the time it's just half. Can only eat 1 or 2 bites of any kind of meat, same with veggies. During the entire day I can only get down and retain maybe 10 bites of food total throughout the day. I do 1 or 2 protein shakes a day and other liquids. I'm on my 6th week post-op.
Have you been losing weight?
Hugs,
Donna

How old are you? 40
Are you married or single? single
Do you have children? none, yet
What do you do? I'm a secretary at a university in Tampa and I'm going to school at night to complete my bachelors degree (May 07).
How would you describe your personality? Friendly, funny, sarcastic and sometimes nice.
Beach or slopes? Beach. Years ago I lived in Miami Beach, just a block from the beach and I would love to sit on the sand, close my eyes and just listen to the waves. Best stress reducer in the world!

Topic: RE: How long does it take to feel better??!!!!!
I had the bypass and I'm sure it is acid in my pouch. I've been back to my dr and he put me on more meds for it. I just ready to feel better thank you for the support
Topic: RE: New to this.
HI Lynette
I had a bypass and not a lap band. But with both its normal for you to stop losing at some point while your body chatches up with itself. I personal have not lost in a few weeks. My nut basicly told me that I wasnt eating enough or oftern enough. I guess your body starts to think its being starved and just goes into survival mode and hangs on to everything that you do eat. I know its strange that you need to eat more but thats what everyone says.
Getting in the protein is important and if you cant do it with food cause you get sick then you need to use protein suppleme nts to get in the right amount of protein.
Soft foods should be eaiser to tolorate like cottage cheese and refreid beans and they are high in protein...
Sorry Im not much help , but I wish you the best
Topic: New to this.
Hi, my name is Lynette. I am new to all of this so excuse me if I sound stupid. But I needed someone to talk to and maybe get some ideas from. I never have time to go to a support group and it is so far away for me to drive that I just don't go. My first question is my starting wt. was 288 and I'm down to 250, my surgery was Sept. 13, 2006. I had my first fill last Wed. And at first I thaught they filled it too much but I am better now. What different foods do some of you eat? I am having a hard time finding things I can eat and keep down. And I am also having a hard time getting all of my protein in each day. Now It seams like I can't get any lower than 250 do any of you have some ideas to help me get past this plateau? I have just started going to the YMCA and did one class of step aerobics and a muscle toning class I am soooooo sore. Hopefully I can start back up next week. Like I said any help is appreciated!!! Oh and if there is anyone that is from around Cameron that has had surgery let me know.
Thanks again
Lynette
