Topic: RE: what foods can I eat that are good pureed? very weak,
Hi Patti,
You're doing great for being 2 weeks out. Right now your body thinks it's being starved so it's not wanting to lose anything. I can almost bet that before the next 2 weeks are over you'll be down another 15 pounds or so. Do you exercise at all? I ask because I felt like I wasn't losing fast enough either and once I added exercise my body had no choice but to start burning calories. In the past 2 weeks I went from 234 to 222, losing about 6 pounds a week. (I started at 250 and I'm 4 weeks out, down 28 pounds!!) I contribute that to the exercise. I only get in about 500 calories a day, if that, and I burn half of that off. My body has no choice but to start living off my stored fat. Best of luck to you.

Congratulations!! I had mine on 9/12 and I started at 250 and am now 222. I hardly get any food in. I have a protein shake in the morning, at my first break at work I'll have a half a bananna, for lunc 1/4 of an eggsalad sandwich, the other half of the banana on my last break and maybe a little refried beans when I get home or a protein shake. I work out for 45 minutes a day too aerobics/weights. I should be measuring inches but I don't have a tape measure. I noticed when I eat meat, I too get that painful lump in my chest. It's when I don't take small enough bites or don't really chew it very well. Start with a quarter size hamburger patty and take about 10 min to eat it, it should stay down. Take baby bites and chew it until it's dust!! Keep up the good work!!

Wow!!! Congragulations on your weight loss that is awesome!! My doctor says no red meats until six months out. But I am going to be honest and tell you I have tried hamburger meat and it made me throw up too. I don't think I will try it again for another six months. Tuna is a great source of protein! Chicken of the Sea makes these little to go tuna cups that are 2-2.8 oz cups. I just mix them with a little low fat mayo and a little relish and bam I get in 18 grams of protein in one meal! Well good luck!!!! And congragulations again!

Ashley,
Congragulations on your weight loss!!! I took the time and read ur whole profile
....it was great! You went through alot of the same struggles as I did. I just had my surgery a little over two weeks ago and I am not losing as fast as I would like...but it will all come off soon! But anyways keep up the good work! You look awesome!

Topic: RE: Period????
I got mine the day after surgery and it was incredibly heavy. I figured it was because of the blood thinner shots they were giving me. I got it exacty 4 weeks later (this Tuesday) and again it is heavy and lots of cramps. I went off my BCP's 7 weeks before surgery and they had always kept it very light and cramp free. I am considering going back on them.

Topic: 1 Month Out!!!
Wooohoooo! Wow! I am 1 month out already!! This past month I have been more of a lurker than anything! Since surgery I have lost a total of 18 pounds! I was alittle down with that number, but then I figured that I had lost a good 6-7 pounds the 2 weeks before my surgery so in reality, I have lost 25 pounds! Thats how I am gonna think about it. Hey, it may not be coming off as fast, but it's coming off! Thats all that matters!! I know that I have lost alot of inches, I will post those later. But thank you everyone for the awesome support!! I don't know how I could have pulled it through with out ALL of you! Check out my profile and you'll get to experience some pretty embarassing before and after photo's (for now!!) There will come the time when I can't wait to shed my clothes down to my underwear and get in front of the camera!! LOL! Hope ALL of you are doing great on your journey!! Love you ALL!!

Tammy,
I've been eating ground turkey, hamburger, pork chop. I used to be able to keep the turkey and hamburger down, now I can't. I haven't tried tuna yet. I bought the book "WLS for Dummies" and they say not to eat raw fruits or veges until 3 mo's out, but I can't recall what they say about meat. Weirdly, I had roast beef at a wedding 2 weeks ago, had teeny tiny bites and chewed chewed chewed and it went down and stayed down. Ever since then I can't keep any meats down.
I'm just scared about not getting enough protein in. I don't want to have to keep drinking protein drinks all day. I do that now and still don't get enough in. Most I've ever gotten in is 43gms.
Have a great day,
Donna
