Topic: RE: LapBand anyone???
thanks for your response. I will "google" LapBand and see if I can find a site, specific to that procedure. I was reading your profile, sounds like you are doing great. Even with the challenges, I know WLS was the right thing for me to do. It will change peoples lives for sure. It's nice to have support from others. I will stay in touch, hope you do the same. Topic: RE: Why are they eating around me??????
It is hard when others are eating yummy foods. I went to my daughter's soccer pizza party the other night and watched people devour pizza and huge salads while I had cottage cheese, a few kidney beans, and some shredded cheese.
But truly, this time will pass. I keep telling myself that.
And really, are those family members eating healthy? Yikes, McDonalds, KFC, pizza . . . that's why we're where we at because we ate that stuff. I'm happy to be headed to a healthier me!

Jamie,
I'm 4 weeks out and I'm on pureed foods also. I eat everything from cottage cheese to chicken, I've had tuna and even meat...the key is to keeep it all moist and blend it well then chew it in your mouth a little more...I think you enery level will start coming back as soon as you get increase your protein levels...at least that helped me...
Good Luck and Congratson your weight lose!!!

Topic: RE: Removing Drains and Tubes
I'm sorry but I had a totally different experience than everyone else seems to have had. I had my JP drain out at the hospital and it hurt bad. It did feel weird but it felt like they were trying to pull my heart out through that little hole on my right side. It took all I could do not to cry. I have had a JP drain in the past that didn't hurt at all coming out but this one did and it may have seemed to hurt worse because I wasn't expecting it to hurt at all. It only hurts for a minute though. As for the G Tube - I was petrified of having it out after my experience with the JP. Well, it was uncomfortable for a second or two but it was nothing compared to the JP. I'm not trying to scare you but I think had I been more prepared for the JP, it would have been better for me. Don't worry because they are both quick and you feel so much better once they are out. Good luck!
