Welcome home! You sound like you are doing great! My surgery is Monday. I'm having my gallbladder out too and I was wondering if you did, as well. I'm happy to hear you aren't in pain. Burping isn't easy for me...maybe surgery will change that. Mahalo for the tip on rocking. See you on the other side!!!

Good luck to you, too! I keep trying to think of something fun to do to keep my mind off of Monday and feel happy about before the surgery. The bowling league sounds like fun. Having  a group of friends like that is great. I plan on packing on Saturday, too. I bought a t-shirt with the old Operation game picture on it and I plan on wearing it there Monday. It will be my last pre-op picture that I hope to post. My son is taking me to the hopital and then my family will come back after it's over. I haven't had to be on a liquid diet at all. This surgeon has each patient lose a specific amount of weight prior to scheduling the surgery. I have lost around 20 lbs. It's hard at the end not to pig out on my old favorites. I don't want to gain any back and have my surgery postponed. I'll be thinking about you on Monday...I've been to Nashville before...walked down Broadway, went to the Stage Door, Charlie Daniel's, and the Opry...had a great time! So here we go  to Monday!!!!  Keep the faith!!!

I am glad everything went well. I am still on clear for awhile my stomma was a little tight so I had to stay one more night to stay hydrated. I start full next week and maybe puree the following. I am just going to play it by ear. I am so stuffed just by drinking water that I don't mind. My doctor told me not to worry about the protein until two weeks out so I am just staying hydrated. Good luck and take care. Aloha, Asia

Hi and thank you for your response. What I was thinking about was Nectar and I would like to purchase it in individual size packs to see what flavors I like. Thanks again, Colleen

Topic: I'm new, I'm Home (Portugal)
Hi all!

I'm new on here.  I live in portugal, and had a Sleeve Gastrectomy on 09/04/08, so just one week post op.  Had my first Doc visit post op today, and he has cleared me to drive so I'm back at work on Monday (BooHoo) I had the op done by Laparoscopy at Hospital da Luz in lisbon, by the fabulous Dr. Paulo Roquete.

A bit about Myself: I'm 35, male, single, Civi Servant.  I weighed 295 lbs pre op and have lost 15lbs in the week since.  SO I am pleased to say the least.  Liquid and puré diet, mild excercise (walking 30 min a day) and feeling great.  No nausea, no vomiting, hardly any pain.  It has been great so far.  I'm healuing very well, after dificulties during anestesia, which is why I ended up with a Sleeve rather then the intended Duodenal Switch.  Anyway, I can have the second part after 6 months, bu I want to see if I can avoid it by losing weight and keeping it off like this.

Regards and best wishes to all.  Please dont hesitate to coment if you need to share experiences or wnat some help or advice on pre and post op.
